SJ9R -> Player age listing (2/14/2009 3:31:53 PM)

Is there an easy way to get a listing or see the age of your players? Or do you have to look at each one individually? I have a college league (Big 12) set up and would like to see the age of the players. A list would be nice.

Also, I am assuming that player retirements are based on age? I realize that players at the college setting will only play 5 seasons. However does this mean all the players will play 5 seasons and then retire? Or (as I am hoping) is this based on age? (Freshman are 19, Soph. 20, Junior 21, Senior 22,23 and retire at 24?) How does this work?

thanks

Open the Players table file with Access (or other database program). Age is listed for all players.

As I recall, forced retirement is based on the Years Pro column.

Thank you, where do I find the Players Table?

In the league database. Use Microsoft access, or Excel...or Open Office.

C:\Matrix Games\Maximum-Football\MainData.mdb

Change the drive number to whichever drive you have the game on.

Note that it is Access'97 format. It can be viewed with many versions of Access or Open Office, but not all programs can edit the JET format it is in without converting the file and messing it up. If you are just looking at the ages, it shouldn't be a problem. You may want to either edit the Years Pro, or run some dummy seasons, if you would like senior retirements.

Thanks Maruaders and Gary.  Unfortunately I don't have access, Microsoft Works database will not open it, I downloaded Open Office and it won't read it either.  I must be doing something wrong.

I guess I don't understand why something as important as age or years pro would not print on a roster and why it can't be edited in game.

I am having a lot of fun in my first season (except for MU getting beat by Iowa State the other night- Who loses to Iowa State???) and for future seasons it would be best to have "x" amount of seniors, juniors, sophmores, etc.  I'm worried with what you described above that I have all Freshman on my roster (or all the rosters).

Thanks again for your help.

That's about it.
