Hello Im playing SPWaW right now, and I really like it. But a game with a more updated graphic and interface, and maybe on a larger scale would be worth buying. Now, since there are no demo of UV i'd like to read some reviews of the game, but I have not found any. So, anyone have anything negative to say about UV? Is it a somewhat less 'hardcore' game than SPWaW (a little less would be great.. :) ) ? Any good links to reviews would help a lot! Any norwegians her who have bought it? How much did it cost to get it? Thank you very much in advance! Jens

Greetings fluid You may want to read some of the ARR's After Action Reports on this forum for some ideas about the game. Also over at Warefare HQ there is a preview of the game as well as an interview with Mike Wood. Jens, We'll let you know when we receive it. Game hasn't shipped yet :) However, there are a couple of excellent (!!) AARs here posted by testers. The information therein should satisfy you one way or another. Look for "Snigbert's AAR" and also a thread called "Allied AAR: Not as good as Snigbert's" or something like that. Preacher

In terms of game design and play I think it will be money well spent. That being said if you are primarily a land wargamer this might not appeal to you since there will be plenty of naval action in this.

[/B][/QUOTE] Long ago, I loved War in Russia, Second Front, and War in Russia 2, and when Grigsby decided to do Pacific War, I thought, I'm not sure I'll like it, because I like land battles. But I bought it anyway, since his other game systems were so good, and I now consider it my favorite of all time. I think this will be the same for anyone who likes his style of games. He's :cool: the best IMO. kp

About Grisby's games the most notable exception being that bombing the reich game. It look excellant, but the detail was just too much. To play correctly you needed to devote more time then possible, a virtual second career and I had a job already. :)

That was the great thing about BTR: it was the world's first real-time game. After you came home from work, you could manage about one turn - or one game day. Some nights or weekends I could crank the turns out, but of course other days I couldn't do any. I realized after about a month that I conducted a month's worth of game turns. Since was I was playing the game at real-time speed, I figured it would take a year and a half to play the whole campaign!

I see alot of comparisons being made between UV and PAC WAR. I purchased PAC WAR when it was first released and I also have upgraded PAC WAR to the Matrix edition V.2. I have been a wargamer since war games where available only as board games. PAC WAR is the one game that I never really mastered. I found the game difficult and cumbersome to play. My question is this. Will I find UV as cumbersome to play as PAC WAR”? I play SPWaW extensively, to the degree that I have found ways to design scenarios where both sides have over 400 units to a side. Although I enjoy mechanized warfare my real passion is Naval operations in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters.
