Of course since Matrix already has our $$ our priority is less than new sales so we get back-burnered.

Since you state this as fact, could you please cite a Matrix source for this information.

Thanks.

Sure:  In another thread Erik Rutkins said "Sorry guys, we are simply not going to make it this week. The COG: EE release took too many resources."

He then goes on to say that it would be a priority this week but given the fact that nothing has materialised and there has been no new word from them it would appear we are still on the back burner.  They are too busy with COG: EE.

Your statement is making a big assumption regarding Matrix' business ethics that is not reflected in the statement you quoted.

I don't agree at all with you.

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 4:58:57 AM)

I've just had the latest version of the patch

There have been technical difficulties with the installer, not with the data that effects WaR but other peripheral parts of the installer program.

matrix people are working on it and we hope it will be ready shortly.

kwverdon -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 6:07:08 AM)

Chris,

That's fine, we can agree to disagree.  I'll agree that Matrix has limitted resources however they focused their resources on a yet to be released game instead of supporting the folks that has already purchased a product from them. They could have either focused their resources into the patch for CCWAR or the release of  COG:EE, they chose COG:EE. They could have chosen to delay the release of COG:EE 1 week or the patch for CCWAR, they chose to delay the patch for CCWAR, the facts speak for themselves. That appears to be the way the "game" is played.  I just don't happen to like it.

Kevin

e_barkmann -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 10:12:16 AM)

Kevin,

I'd probably be more sympathetic to your argument if I felt there were showstopper bugs in the current release of the game. I'd be plenty annoyed in a case where a patch had been delayed over the release of a new game and I wasn't able to play the game.

However, in this case we're getting plenty of something for nothing.

TDeacon -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 12:46:37 PM)

Hi Chris,

Based on my initial readings on these boards, and based on my (limited) intial experience with WaR, there seem to be some major bugs in the campaign game, and of course the campaign game is one of the main attractions.  (Note that the multiplayer campaign thread seems to indicate that they are waiting for the patch, prior to starting). Some bugs that come to mind are the empty battlegroup bug, and the way that BG strength levels seem to be for the most part hard-coded (because of the current reinforcement behavior) throught the campaign.  These bugs are stated to be fixed in the upcoming patch.  Note that although I just recently bought WaR, some of these guys apparently bought it months ago, and probably their frustration stems from that.

My personal perspective is that although I am unhappy that these bugs exist (which suggest that the campaign should have been playtested better), I am happy that Matrix is apparently working to fix these bugs (based on Andrew's bug fix list for the next patch), and am hoping that it will come out soon.  The patch progress updates that Andrew provides are helpful.

sol_invictus -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 1:43:07 PM)

Best thing to do in situations like this is to just play another game and put the patch out of mind.

advo -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 9:20:30 PM)

People! Excuse, I badly understand English :(
Whether correctly I have understood - the patch will not be?

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 9:50:12 PM)

The patch is all but ready

There are just a couple of technical problems with the installer that are being worked on by the Matrix crew.

thanks for your patience.

Platoon_Michael -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 10:33:04 PM)

Darn,
How are so many other people able to play GCs and some of us cant?
After crushing the Axis scum at Habscheid with a Total Allied Victory I was surprised to see this.
Now maybe that BG will get re-inforced at the start of the next turn and I'll get lucky.

Platoon_Michael -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/4/2009 10:34:30 PM)

I know the fix is comming, and I'll wait for it.
Geuss im just killing time and web space.
Thats all.

kwverdon -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/5/2009 9:11:07 PM)

So, what's the word Matrix?  Are we going to see the patch?  It seems hard to believe that it takes 2 weeks to correct a menu problem.

e_barkmann -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/5/2009 9:57:01 PM)

I can see it on their ftp server now.

I dont need an installer to copy/paste the files.Whats the link/password?
Sure the games playable (as mentioned by Matrix) if you only like single battles.
Todays Thursday so if we dont get it today we wont get it till maybe next week.Due to something about not releasing a patch on friday.
I find it hard to believe a simple installer program is holding all this up.

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/5/2009 11:10:36 PM)

Yep, it is available for DL on the FTP.

No official announcement or links posted yet.

Platoon_Michael -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/6/2009 10:43:16 AM)

How does one turn on the BGLEADER picts for WAR?
And if I do so does that have any effect on multiplayer games?

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/6/2009 10:44:00 AM)

There are no Bgleader pics for WaR

sol_invictus -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/6/2009 2:56:39 PM)

Excellent! Thanks for herding this through Andrew.

Platoon_Michael -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/7/2009 2:42:53 PM)

I understand that there are no actual BGLeader pics but there are images associated with the file name.
is it possible to get those displayed in the game?

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/7/2009 9:15:16 PM)

No, there  are no BGLeader pics for WaR

This has been enabled for mods though

Just make a WaR mod under WaR and you will see the BGLeader pics.

and sorry, I don't do mod tutorials.

bernd, nomada , and a few others could knock this up in no time for you.

Just ut the Graphics folder in a sub directory and call it WaR_BGleader or something similar.

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/7/2009 10:24:42 PM)

try this

BgLeader pic for WaR

and added info

berndn -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/7/2009 10:46:58 PM)

This is in no time [:)] Andrew !

Andrew Williams -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/7/2009 10:52:33 PM)

That's because I have no time ;)

I also should add that your Mod Installer tool makes this sort of mod a 15min effort... brilliant tool!!!

Erik Rutins -> RE: With all due respect.................. (3/9/2009 3:47:44 PM)

In response to kwverdon - we did everything we could do get this update out sooner. We worked on it before the COG:EE release as well as after. We simply ran into a problem on the installer side we'd never seen before that took some time and multiple iterations to sort out. The COG:EE release caused a 2 business day delay in the release of the update, in effect. Under normal conditions, it wouldn't have delayed it at all, but we had a last minute all hands push on COG: EE to get it out before ETW. I think reading into this that we somehow don't value our CC:WAR customers is really beyond a stretch.
