This is an interesting one. A French WWI warship named Danton has been found at a depth of 1,000 metres and in exceptionally good condition. The ship was sunk in 1917 by a German sub, with the loss of 296 of the 1,000 crew.

The BBC have some footage and the story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7898890.stm

It amazes me how well preserved the wreck is. In the footage it looks like the porthole window glass is still intact, but that may just be my eyesight! Even so, the ship is in remarkable condition considering it's been down there for almost 100 years.

This also got me wondering what the conditions in the subs must have been back then. I can't imagine how cramped, noisy and dangerous those early submarines must have been to live and work in.
