RockinHarry -> Shellholes nīrubble limit (5/14/2002 9:55:00 PM)

yes, I also read somewhere that a map designer reached the limit of shellholes on a map, but he didnīt tell exact number. But thereīs always a solution! First you need to decide if you need either the look or also the effect of shellholes (not rubble). For example one can put the shellhole graphic into one of the custom shape files and just use these tiles ontop of other terrrain. I think "Rough" would be a good choice. In fact "shell hole" attributes (defense modifier ect) are not that significant and you can easily take other terrain to simulate "effect". This way you get enough "headroom" for the real shellholes produced by bombardments ect. Pops. check the map contest thread. I attached there some city map sample that uses rubbled building shapes. Looks much better than the "generic" SPWAW rubble graphics anyway. I also used the volcanic beach tiles as "rubble" on the streets and found it looking good. General approach with rubble is same as with shellholes. Take a graphic (rubble, ruined building) of your choice and combine it with terrain attribute (rough, rocks, boulder) of your choice. Have fun ________ Harry
