elgato607 -> cant load troops...heeeelp!! (3/9/2009 4:29:37 AM)

ok so i've read alot in the forums, and admit that i am new...
however, i'm playing the first senario as allies. historic first turn is off so i can make some plans before the japanese offensive. so i want to move some allied engineer groups around to increase the support in certain areas. i have tried using AK and AP in transport TFs. the OP for the TF is zero so i'm good there, and i'm not refuleing first then loading troops. i create the TF, set its destination, and then set the future destination for the engineer group to the same destination as the TF, and when i click load troops only there is nothing in the list to select. i've also tried this with infantry as well, and get same results. the HQ for most of these units is USAFF or something like that. any help would be greatly appreciated, since for the most part i've been able to figure out most of the game...and i really have to say that i've been impressed so far =).

The problem is that you are trying to load a "restricted command". Certain commands (USAFFE is one) cannot be moved by ship without your changing their reporting command. This will cost you PP's. If you have them to spend , try changing the unit to ..say, SouthPacific. Yiu should then be able to load them. Let us know if that does the trick, if not we will try something else. BTW , welcome to the forum! [:)]

USAFFE: US Armed Forces Far East... this is a restricted command in WITP, which means that these units cannot be loaded onto ships or transported anywhere by aircraft unless you change the HQ to which they report to an unrestricted command, by spending PP.

Restricted commands in WITP: USAFFE, ABDA, India, West Coast, ANZAC, Austalia, New Zealand.... any others? My brain is clogged with a sinus cold tonight...

Isn't china command one? Or is that we frequently make them so under "house rules"? Hope that you feel better Brad! [:(]

Sorry. I usually don't do my share in helping the newbies though. And you are always more than giving of your time, as you have been for me. [8|]

bradfordkay -> RE: cant load troops...heeeelp!! (3/9/2009 4:41:40 AM)

I've never tried to transport China Command units, so I don't know...

Thanks, Steve, I hope I can kick it soon too (I'm still a few days away from any time off work).

rtrapasso -> RE: cant load troops...heeeelp!! (3/9/2009 4:41:47 AM)

You probably need to read about restricted commands... make sure the troops you are trying to load are not from a restricted command...

Probably you should read some of the "must read" threads if you are new... they will save you a load of problems in the long run. Check out the stickied section in the main WITP forum, or go to this link:

Yes, but you were the only one to think of linking to a "must read tread". Well done Dr. Robert! [&o]

Canada command too.

India command only appears in mods (CHS), and in CHS Australia Command is not restricted (ANZAC is instead).

China is restricted for the Japanese only, but Chinese Allied units are not restricted. The problem is rather getting a boat there...

You are , as always , most welcome Eric. In a couple of months I see you being the one to give advice. A lttile over a year ago I couldn't even figure out how to turn the game on! [:D] This forum is a great example of "Pay it forward". [:)]

bradfordkay -> RE: cant load troops...heeeelp!! (3/9/2009 5:02:11 PM)

You're very welcome Eric.... hopefully I haven't steered you into a lee shore during a typhoon!  [X(]

I like to help out the newbies because the more of them there are, the more Matrix is willing to support this game which has become my addiction... [8|]
