MikeToth -> what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/12/2009 4:05:49 AM)

If memory serves me correctly the prior version only supported 1024x768... does this support higher ???

DasTactic -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/12/2009 4:24:46 AM)

Nope. Just that one resolution.

Erik Rutins -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/12/2009 4:38:46 AM)

Please see this thread:

It does work fine on higher resolution monitors, but you may need to tweak your settings to get the best image quality.

what a shame....  not sure why they would make all of those improvements, yet not tweak it (I know its an engine thing) to adjust for wide screen higher resolutions...

ack.. have to pass on it for now..   tks for the reply btw

It's not a tweak, it's a heart transplant combined with liposuction, with some hairplugs thrown in on top of all that.

The game looks great on my 1680x1050 22" Samsung wide-screen monitor.

Same here, I've run it on three different high resolution widescreen displays and it looks great on all of them. I'm just not sure what other folks are seeing and I'm thinking they don't have their settings set right in their video drivers or their monitor.

BigJ62 -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/13/2009 5:46:50 PM)

On my 24" its' letterboxed and clear.

ASHBERY76 -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/13/2009 8:03:40 PM)

Windows mode would help.It looks poor on my 24.

Erik Rutins -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/13/2009 8:10:16 PM)

Have you tried adjusting your video driver and/or monitor scaling options?

Berkut -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 4:12:18 AM)

Why doesn't this at least run in a window?

I cannot even alt-tab out of the game since my screen resolution is all messed up until I actually quit.

This is kind of basic Windows programming stuff, right?

Any chance for a fix?

Hi Mike,

I was very skeptical about purchasing CoG:EE because of this, but I have to admit that since I did some adjustment of the scaling settings in my ATI CCC, the game looks great. I wouldn't let this issue prevent you from buying. It's a huge improvement over the original CoG.

MikeToth -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 4:55:29 PM)

I have 2 rigs... an old XP Pro with an NVidia Geforce 6800  and a new Asus Gaming Laptop with a GT9800 vid card respectively..  my monitor is a 20" Samsung widescreen.  Is the scaling
setting an option within the video card tweak settings??? I'm assuming so...  looking for that little gem before I decide to buy the game....  I use the monitor on both rigs.

tks for the reply....

Mike,

On my system here with a GeForce 6200 and two 1680x1050 monitors, the settings are in my video driver control panel and look like this:

DasTactic -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 6:12:59 PM)

I'm not too sure Mike. I run mine on a 24 inch monitor using a 9800GTX card and I don't get scaling (stretching). I had changed the settings previously so older games that don't support wide-screen would display at the correct ratio. So I guess I'm saying you should be right.

MikeToth -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 6:52:22 PM)

well you've convinced me.. I'll give it a go...  tks so much for the help guys... couldnt find a scaling option on that old 6800 I have,  but I know my new rig has it..  One last dumb question,

my Asus is a Vista 64 bit machine.. will the game run ok on Vista 64???

tks again  [&o][:)]

Erik Rutins -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 9:32:35 PM)

Yes, it does run find on Vista 64. We haven't listed that on the "officially supported" list because some parts are quite different from Vista 32. However, it works on our Vista 64 test system and we've had no problem reports from customers running Vista 64 that were unique to that OS.

If you don't see that option on your system with the 6800, it probably just means that you need to update your video drivers with the latest from www.nvidia.com. If I see it on a 6200, it would certainly work on a 6800.

Berkut -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 9:37:57 PM)

Am I the only one who has the problem alt-tabbing out of the program back into Windows?

EagleMountainDK -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/16/2009 10:00:19 PM)

I own a 20" 1680x1050 monitor and like you Mike I must confess I like games that gives me this resolution. But I took the plundge today and bought the game. My LCD monitor has a hardware option letting me decide if I want stretching or not. And like most people here I can say that it looks sharp at 1024x768 with two black bars on the sides. Now I just have to learn how to play the game [:D]

Well with just the plugs it passes constitutional muster to be Vice President of the United States.

Good work guys.

bought it, love it...... thanks for the help guys......

PRBoricua -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/19/2009 8:43:24 PM)

Hello, I'm having the same "stretching" problem that others have been reporting, and (as it seems) I don't have any way to fix it.

I have a GeForce 9800 GT and an Acer X223W, 22" widescreen monitor.  Am I missing something? I definitely don't have the option posted in the screen shot above to use nVidia scaling.

Just wondering how I can stop it from scaling my entire desktop when I boot the game.

BigJ62 -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/19/2009 10:28:20 PM)

If you have another LCD monitor try connecting it as well and then see if the options are enabled.

AminMaalouf -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/22/2009 1:03:30 PM)

I've just tried to find out whether CoC:EE would run on my sys.

CoC and FoF are somehow not going to execute properly since I've got new hardware. The reason could be the monitor (Dell 27 inch).

I have tried scaling down without success.

Some users with more skil and technical mindness may have got a work-around.

Any ideas?

Thx mates

I had this problem a while back. All you need to do is make sure you are connecting the monitor to the video card using one of the digital connectors rather than the old analog style connectors (DVI I think it is called).

Once you have a digital connection, the nVidia settings show up. Hope this helps. :)

PRBoricua -> RE: what screen resolutions are supported?? (3/23/2009 12:23:53 AM)

Thank you sir, I appreciate your help. I am connecting through the older adapter, with that in mind I'll have to make sure and get it connected through the digital connector.
