Yes and no. We have no "trainer" aircraft per se, but there are squadrons with the training functionality.

What properties or capabilities/limitations in game will an air group have if you check the "trainer" box?

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/23/2009 4:17:42 PM)

Without this turning into an additional Air Team thread, the group will only be able to run the Training mission. The Japs can also use their training squadrons as Kamikazes.

For more info, please go to the Air thread.

Dili -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/23/2009 4:41:22 PM)

When we choose Squadron as formation can we put a limite below or above 12-36 aircrafts?

I am not seing in editor the tonnage limits for ships and ship size in Ports? is that a hardcode example 6 port size means XXXXXXX amounts of tonnage with size limit of XXXXXt

And you won't. They are hard coded. They are not in the editor. There will be a table in the manual.

Please let Brother Terminus do his thing and stop pulling things off-point. Thank you.

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/23/2009 7:40:06 PM)

Actually, John, I thought that was a valid question, which I'd have answered sooner had I seen it earlier. But thanks all the same. [8D]

As for the squadron thing, nothing keeps you from doing that in stock, and the same goes for AE. A squadron is set as 12-36 aircraft, but there's nothing to stop you setting squadron X at 6 aircraft maximum. Why'd you want to is another thing.

Dili -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/23/2009 8:10:31 PM)

Thanks.

scottott999 -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 1:50:46 AM)

I was reading in a couple of other threads about some ships not making the cut. Obviously these can be added via the editor but I was just curious how man ships does AE permit vs. stock WITP? I think stock allowed for 3000 Jap and 7000 allied ships if I remember correctly.

20,000 total, with no set ranges or number for nations.

Fantastic!

About how many are "open" slots?

very roughly, about 7500.

jwilkerson -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 5:30:14 PM)

Not nearly enough - that won't even cover the 8,000+ Ocean going motor fishing fleet Japan had in 1940!!!
[:D]

NormS3 -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 5:41:51 PM)

Wow.

My girlfriend is gonna be pissed. Or she might end up even happier that I am off doing my own thing (or more available to kid sit, while moding).

Thanks again for everything guys![&o]

Couple more big slot questions. About how many slots available in . . .

Pilots
Leaders
Aircraft
Ship Classes
Locations

Feel free to ignor me as my keyboard is already rather damp from my drool!

Let's wait till the game comes out before going into gory details. Sufice to say - many.

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 7:45:55 PM)

More than enough.

NormS3 -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:05:42 PM)

Works for me. [8D]

Thanks again guys and keep up all your great work (and please ignor those who press for a faster release). I have seen the quality of all your hard work and am more than willing to wait for AE since it will most likely end my future socializing.

Probably best I keep my attention her way til I got a good [;)] reason to get into trouble!

Dili -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:15:39 PM)

Is it possible to use the editor to make a diferent map(like Russia, Med) or a scaled up one(i know problems will happens with that like ship speed assuming that there is a hardcode limit like in witp) ?

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:30:32 PM)

No.

Dili -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:37:47 PM)

So there are less possibilities of editing the map like for witp mods? I never edited in Witp so i don't know if i am making a mistake.

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:39:19 PM)

There has never been a built-in map editor in WitP.

Dili -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (3/27/2009 8:40:47 PM)

Okay thanks

First off, aircraft. In the attached screenshot, we have the B5N2 Kate. Most of it is pretty self-explanatory, but there are a couple of things I want to explain.

First off, you see that the aircraft appears to come pre-installed with MAD and radar when it becomes available in April 1942. However, this is not the case. Instead, those devices do not appear until the devices themselves become available in 1944. In-Game, they will be greyed out until they become active.

Secondly, in the bottom right corner, you see that we have added the ability to enter specific ranges for any aircraft, with or without drop tanks. Very useful, and less difficult to find than you'd think.

probably an uber dumb question
but the new hexes are 30 nm ?

the ranges given for the kate all make it 38 nm , ie 27 hexes 1075 nm = ~ 40 nm /hex ?

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (4/10/2009 10:22:49 AM)

They're 40 miles.

I doubt it T, some modder will want to fill 120% of the available slots with some pet items. [:)]

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (4/10/2009 12:42:08 PM)

Well, yeah... But for the non-insane, it'll be enough...[:D]

Just for clarity, the new hexes are 40 nautical miles (46 statute miles).

Sanity is over rated anyway. [;)]

If one were to do a mod where the two Naval Treaties were never signed, I could see using a lot of ships slots...but I doubt all of them.

hellfirejet -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (4/13/2009 7:53:09 AM)

Hey folks,
I noticed while reading the info for the editor that there is a mix of sizes ie Metric & Imperial, I think all info for this time period should be in standard Imperial 4" Guns, 18" Guns etc not cms ?

Terminus -> RE: Admiral's Edition Editor Thread (4/13/2009 10:43:03 AM)

The Japanese officially changed their measurements of calibers from inches to centimeters in 1917. That's why it's shown like this, and why it will stay that way.
