Hi,

I am having a problem with fighters mysteriously not intercepting... I had this problem for some time now in different games...

for example in a WW3 game, as russia, a fighter squad with some dive bombers did not intercept only 5 squares away from where enemy air force hit, even though being 100% supplied and 100% ready, and set to 50%

I assume you did have the icon clicked intercept on. Otherwise your fighters don't intercept.

And remember they only intercept for typically 1/2 of their range (check unit stats for intercept range of your particular group)

I solved the problem, and just like to warn any one playing ww3 not to put fighters with bombers or they will not intercept. not sure if this is a ww3 thing or if this applies to all AT scenarios

Hi all,

I have again problems with fighters, they have intercept range of 5, but they are not using their range, and only intercepted attacks 3 squares away, while 5 squares away, it did nothing

can some one please tell me why it wouldnt intercept within its max range? and why its actual range is very small? mabe the scenario designer can help me, grymme? Vic? any one??

I suspected it had something to do with what I did with the fighters the turn before, I did an ground attack and enemy planes didnt intercept, so by the end of turn readiness was high (definitely higher than 25)

So does range go down with readiness? or do they need to have action points from the turn before?

Intercept range is only 5 is readiness is 100pts. if readyness is lower then 100 its 4. If lower then 80 its 3. If lower then 60 its 2. If lower then 40 its 1. If lower then 20 its 0.

I guess that should be the reason for the confusion.

its actually in the manual in paragraph 10.4.6 :)

What happens if the figther have a range of, say, 20?
