Manx -> Newbie Question: Reporting Tank/Infantry Kills (Sorry!) (5/22/2002 8:10:15 PM)

Does anyone know why there is no distinction made between armour and infantry kills in a units stats -- they all show as being tank kills (tank symbol)?

TIA

The icon is the same for tank, infantry, arty... kills.

You got a kill credit whenever you "remove" the enemy unit from the board; i.e. for a sniper you got one kill;
for a squad with 12 men you got one kill if you destroy the unit (or the survivors are dispersed)....

Thanks gnoccop

I understand that, but for the sake of clarity, it would be a nice touch to have different icons for "hard" & "soft" casualties. It would make it much easier to figure out exactly what damage a unit has inflicted. Maybe we'll get a more detailed breakdown of this in CL (FoW permitting of course).

While the icons are a handy way of estimating a unit's experience level, they're not entirely accurate for the reasons gnoccop mentioned. Always check the 'experience' rating of a unit if you want to guage which ones are your best.
