I have done the exact same thing in Forge. I have yet succesfully " killed off " a crappy leader that way.

PT boats are harder to sink than Battleships in this game[:D]

I am still hoping AE has an "Execute leader" button[sm=fighting0083.gif] It would not have much effect on the game but would be a morale booster for the player.
