Japan -> AE Air Bombing Operation (5/29/2009 12:54:17 AM)

Hello

Lets say I fly from base A to bomb base C, and I fly directly over base B on the way to as well as from the target, will I then encounter the AA fire and Fighters from base B as well as from base C as in reality, or is AE's "reality" the same as WITP's on this one ?

I appreciate very much you taking the time to read my question.

Nope.

It also doesn't happen in Stock either. Combat occurs over the base being attacked only....however there is a chance that multiple bases might contribute forces to an attack on a specific target base.

First, Thanks a lot for your replay.

Also, If the amount of fighters from nerby bases is set to be part of the combat above base X, then this maby could simulate that the bombers got attacked while enroute... depending on the number of fighter of course... (just a thought..)

Yes CAP from nearby bases does bleed over into nearby hexes.

Yep. Thx for the clarification. However to avoid confusion, I should add that this is depends more on the proximity of the base not being attacked to the base being attacked vs. the "path" of the bomber attack to the target base. So in the specific sense.....there's no "Raid from base A attacking Base C gets attacked by Base B because the raid flys near it"

What we have is, "If Base C is under attack from Base A, and Base B, which is allied to Base C, is within a close proximity to that base, then part of it's CAP, if staged, might be added to Base C's defense."

Gotta remember with hexes 40 miles across, a flight might go thru a hex and still be a long way from a base within that hex.

(In vanilla the hex is 60 miles, of course.)
