As i was reading about air supply on the manual i got 2 questions about it.

1. does the unit that was cut off need an airfield nearby so they can get ressuply? and does the supply point need one to like dispatch planes?

2. can air supply be affected by enemy air superiority?

As no one else tried, I'll give you what I have seen.

1. No airfield is required, and supply points do not need airfields. What is needed is unused air transport capacity. If the cut off unit is surrounded by enemy zones of control, I don't believe that it will receive any supply.

2. Enemy Air Superiority does not affect Air Supply, but the manual does say that Enemy Interdiction does. I don't think that this is calculated separately, rather it is what is normally seen in the Situation Briefing as 'Enemy Interdiction reduces our supply capability by x%'.

As far as I know, only units with some sort of Airborne unit symbol benefit from air supply. If isolated from a supply point, they remain "unsupplied" but their unit supply levels are dependent upon friendly air capacities in some fashion.

I've studied the problem some years ago. Each cut off unit gets supply as long, as you have some free air transport. Airborne/airlift units and HQs have much more higher level of air supply absorbtion. A HQ can get supply 100 the same time when a regular unit stacking the same hex almost stavres to death [X(] (anyway, quite realistic [8|]). Enemy zones of controls as well as airfileds have no influance [sm=nono.gif]. How much the supply ich changing depends on number of cut off equipment, but doesn't depend on: number of turns (air supply starts at once),  distance to supplied airfields (Paulus could be supplied directly from Berlin), escort of own fighters nor presence of enemy fighters [:(]. It looks like next Norm's "procedure-based-on-Allied-experience-in-France-1944".
