Turkey 115 in.

Poor, poor Spain-or is it France.

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/5/2010 9:21:08 AM)

To: The French minister of foreign affairs

From: the Earl of Evenwood; 1st Minister & Foreign Secretary to his Majesty King George III.

His Britannic Majesties Government view with grave concern the presence of French troops in the future English province of Minho and strongly suggests that the said provinces is evacuated of all French personnel with immediate effect.

Moreover any attempts by the French Government to invade either of the ex Spanish provinces of Rome & Abruzzi, or other provinces covered in the ‘Treaty of Minho’ will be taken by his Majesties Government as a direct assault on English interests, and will have very serious consequences.

Your Servant.

Evenwood.
1st Minister & Foreign Secretary to King George III

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/5/2010 11:47:24 AM)

To the Earl of Evenwood: ri-ight!

Threathening France while pumping large sums of money into her neighbours is a guaranteed way to get cooperation from us...

Le Terje de France

(and replied btw)

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/5/2010 3:00:21 PM)

Le Terje de France

Good! we appreciate the "co-opperation" bit over provinces assigned to us via the 'Treaty of Minho; the large sums of money is to offset the surrender terms automatically using up spare points left over as a cash deduction from the looser, ie reperations, there's no mechanism in the game to do that so hence the subsidies.

All the Best
Peter

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/5/2010 4:55:20 PM)

The ruler of Britain, King Kingmaker needs to make sure of what he does in the next turns, else someone might steal his name in this game [;)]

Ah, I see the chickens are finally coming home to roost.

Minho, eh? Hmmm, that would be _NOT_ a traditional part of the British Isles I think?

Nah! Great Britain is not a threat to European Civilization. Just a warm fuzzy, friendly, bayonet-wielding imperialist intent on reshaping all of Europe-proper into her Anglo Liberal model . . . and the Germanic/Eastern powers just keep playing along . . .

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/6/2010 7:53:41 PM)

HiHi

Well Seamus we all now know that your geographical knowledge far exceeds your knowledge of History, Minho, ... that would be _NOT_ a traditional part of the British Isles I think? Well spotted, I dare say looking at the map may have helped ... or? was it the fact that Minho is not an Island that gave it away, whatever, well done. [:D]

(Just to update you on the Historical side). Minho is however a province of Portugal, who just happen until fairly recently to be Englands oldest allies (c600 years worth, and who’s artillery at least earned some praise during the Peninsular campaign, Hellfire, they even fought alongside us in WWI and at Passchendaele of all places), and even to this day they still play Cricket [&o] & Football [&o] like what we taught them!

Where was I? Oh yes, and before you move further round the map and notice Naples is also now under English control, they too were allies of England during the Napoleonic wars, it’s where Admiral Nelson meet Lady Hamilton, (All say, “ahhh” ... don’t you just love a bit of romance?).

As to the Germanic/Eastern powers support of England, that may well be coz, to create an idiom, they have a “Mad dog of a Russian Bear” prone to ‘Sneak attacks’ skulking on their boarders ...

PS hows the weather in Russia? [:)]

All the Best
Peter

Must have been a Freudian slip-where the hell is turn 117 already! Possibly- it was a little late after a long day at the "office".

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (4/8/2010 11:26:06 AM)

France in; a couple of notes for this turn;

1) BAH! I could not liberate the Preussian bordelands because Austria holds their capitol [:@]
That means the vultures/Preussians gets loot after all
2) Congrats to Spain then [:(]

I hope we are in agreement that treaty clauses must go into effect asap. It is really gamey and not very realistic to have the start of a treaty delayed a year or so to assist in some evil scheme.

I see the Spanish did not learn from history and forced "a treaty of Versailles" down our throats [8|]
