thepeeler -> Overlapped Text in Report Screens (5/30/2002 2:47:48 AM)

Hi,

I've been watching the forum for a while but have not seen this issue reported. Many of the unit status type screens have overlapped text that makes it difficult or impossilbe to read. I'm not at home now but the jist of the problem goes like this:

Some attack strength or other: 13343/123434

The problem is the numerical values, in many cases overlap with the text for a word or two making both unreadable. Looks like the pixel width of the text string is being miscalculated. Is this a known problem? System details: Win XP Pro, 1024x768 resolution on 24" monitor. I think I have DirectX 8.1 but can check for sure tonight.

Is this a known problem?

Thanks...I am enjoying the game immmmmmmensly.

I have the same problem. I hope this gets fixed fast.

I fixed the problem with the text.

The culprit is Clear Type in windows XP.

Clear Type makes text bolder and easier to read.
This is the first incompatibility with Clear Type I have come across.
I love Clear Type, so I will have to turn in it off everytime I play UV, and back on again afterwards.

Can this be fixed in the patch?

Donīt know if it can be fixed in the patch. Mike would have to answer that, but I personally must say that "Clear Type" is not very nice, it makes the text totally blurry.

Hello...

The user needs to turn off clear print. That will fix it.

Bye...
