Suppose you use your armor to blitz and you also use an engineer to ford the a river and paradrop onto the hex attacked. If you suffer a single loss, which one of the units do you loose?
i dont recall for certain that para are a mandatory loss if used in an attack, maybe only if you fail ot take the hex. But i do recall that if you take a loss on the blitz table you are supposed to loose a mechanized unit and if you use engineers to ford a river you are supposed to loose them if you take a loss on the attack.
So is this a player choice or will it be determined automatically? (I would hoe its automatic as the fewer dialog boxes the better)

This is dictated by the WIF FE rules. Off the top of my head I believe the order for mandatory losses is: ENG, snow unit, armor/mech/mot.
Engineer is before the armor, but if I am not wrong, paratrooper follows a different rule, it dies always if you cannot take the hex, and is an additional loss . If you take it but have losses, paratrooper (IMO) has no preference as a loss, you would kill eng - armor in this order if blitz and eng involved.
