I've had worse.

It sounds like you never had chow cooked in a helmet, or used coffee filters made of old boot socks. Yum, yum. We actually looked forward to 25 year old C rations. But, not the ones with scrambled eggs and ham. Those would make you puke just reading the label.

Dang it! The memories have made me sick. Gotta run .......

I've seen those HM meals at Wal-Mart everytime my wife and I are shopping, and I never have tried them. Now, after reading that I will probably stick to the usual... Fruity Cheerios...10 spoonflls of champion if you ask me

Crimguy -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/10/2009 5:33:57 AM)

There is only one breakfast: Peanut Butter Crunch!

FOW -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/10/2009 1:40:41 PM)

i'm not so much worried about food or drink - heck I'm sure I can go 2-3 days stuck in front of the computer.

What concerns me the most is getting the time off work. I must go warn my manager that a personal issue is likely to arise sometime in the next 2 months (?????) and that I'll need to take time off with little to no warning. Mmm must catch her on a good day .........

oldspec4 -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/10/2009 2:54:52 PM)

OMG..this brings back beaucoup (not so good) memories. All that's missin' is the P-38 can opener.

byron13 -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/10/2009 9:23:59 PM)

I was soooo disappointed to see Outback's cheese fries with Ranch dressing at the top of the list. I love that stuf. How do the Aussies eat it? I mean, I'm sure while grilling roos on the barbie they have a little Dutch oven making the cheese fries, right? Or is is cheese chips?

madgamer2 -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/10/2009 10:38:23 PM)

You see....my case and point.....those who are obsessed (like insanity) never see there actions as being abnormal therefore no obsession exists.

Perhaps a good thing if we all one day were allowed to see our obsessions....(we all have them...come on admit it to yourself)...we would stop functioning as it is such things as obsessions that drive us under the guise of "normal" behavior. I guess this game is as good a thing to become obsessed about as any other LOL

Everyone has an obsession, just like everyone has a personality (well, theoretically [:D]) it's when you have multiple ones that things start to get crazy.

I must confess I loved these when I last visited USA: Carl's Jr. Double Six Dollar Burger (1,520 calories, 111 g fat) [:D] For some reason, I dislike McD or BK etc. and I am not much into fast food...but I love those. [8D]

Hopefully I'll have a chance to visit this place someday:

I am so fed up with health nazis telling people what to eat. I am in shape...round IS a shape...[:D]

daerth gnitiaw eht evil gnol!!!!

Woops...sorry. I though I was somewhere else. [:D]

byron13 -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/13/2009 1:32:43 AM)

Sure am bored waiting for the game now that the "price is too high" thread has died down. I've decided I don't have the patience to read the manual first. I'm going to take a whack at a couple of turns jus to see it play before I start studying about port capacities and torpedo limits. Heck, I'll probably spend at least a couple of hours just touring the map. And I'll be curious to see if KB comes back for day two at Pearl.

So, how many of you run Force Z up the coast to try and intercept the Japanese invasion, and how many keep them at home for use on a rainy day?

jrcar -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/13/2009 1:42:39 AM)

The first time I visited the US I went into one of these places, then like many other Aussies laughed my head off when I looked at the menu... not a single thing that was Aussie!

Ranch dressing, what is that?, Cheese fries? Why would you put cheese on chips? (although I now appreciate mayonnaise after several trips to Holland).

Cheers

Rob

I use the "Dutch Oven" for something other than cooking...

Aw, you kidder, you. You really had me going for a moment thinking that cheese fries with ranch dressing isn't Aussie. But then I remember all of the antique boomerangs on the walls and how on the television commercial they talk all funny and say "g'day" and I know that Outback is the real deal. They sure know how to cook chicken in Alice Springs: chicken with bacon and melted cheese on top and honey-mustard dressing. Between that and the cheese fries, you Aussies sure get your fill of melted cheese and dressings. Not sure how you all managed all that goodness in the outback, but my hat's off to you all. Sure wish we cooked like that here in the U.S. Cheese will go on anything: grits, hash browns, anything you'd put between two pieces of bread, eggs - anything but maybe steak. Cheese on chips is even better when you add chili - making chili cheese fries - but the ranch dressing makes the cheese fries at the Outback pretty darned good. And, apparently, very fattening.

viberpol -> RE: The Waiting Thread (7/13/2009 10:14:17 PM)

Did you notice that since Mr Erik's announcement no single AE AAR is continued?
Is it a good sign or bad one? [:D]
