I am looking for some beta testers (especially folks on Vista or Windows 7 or any 64 bit version of Windows)

The core of PureSim 1.77 is now in place and I'd like folks to give it a run through. Note, at this point this is more of cleaning up code and improving compatibility. New features are sparse.

If you'd like to help test here is the beta 1.77:

Download 1.77

1.77 Release Notes

Installed 1.77--graphics on menus are all messed up--there are black boxes over menus on new game screen.

I have windows xp.

I'll download this and check it later.  Thanks for continually updating this great game Shaun!!!  Kinda sad to see the multiplayer go... hope you can bring it back at a later date when you get all the code converted over and cleaned up.

PadresFan104 -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 4:53:10 AM)

I'll give it a try shortly....

Thanks AK!! It's an honor!!

Shaun, I get the following error when I try to launch the latest version on XP...

PadresFan104 -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 5:15:52 AM)

Ok, got the game to launch, not sure what the problem was that caused the 91 error. However, I see the same thing as duncan21...

akcranker -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 5:37:31 AM)

I haven't downloaded and tried this yet.. but I wonder if it will look different in Vista or Windows 7 then what you guy's are seeing in XP since he made changes to make it work better on Vista and Windows 7.

akcranker -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 8:39:31 AM)

Okay got this downloaded and installed.  I'm using Vista btw.

Don't have the graphics problem that Duncan and PadresFan are having.  Might be because they are using XP?

I created a new association using the 2009 rosters.  Everything loaded fine and it recognized that I had the 2009 schedule and asked if I wanted to load it.  Thought that was cool.

Looking at team finances though I have to wonder why they are so high?  St. Louis has a payroll of $119 Million and they have $148 Million dollars left to spend.  Other teams are in the same boat.. seems like they have WAY to much money to work with.

akcranker -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 8:45:10 AM)

Rosters don't look right either...  Dontrelle Willis is a Free Agent???  and his ratings are horrible!!!  There's other players that are free agents that don't look good either...

I'll take a look at the XP issue this weekend.

I did in fact make changes (For Windows 7 and Vista) that could certainly impact this. Should be a quick fix, I have an XP virtual machine I can fire it up on and debug.

Yea the 2009 stuff is raw, I actually won't spend any time with the 2009 roster stuff until all core issues have been worked out.

KG Erwin -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 4:44:35 PM)

As an XP user, I take it that I should NOT try this one yet.

akcranker -> RE: Looking for beta testers (7/10/2009 8:43:44 PM)

KG I wouldn't.. not til Shaun gets a fix out this weekend.

Shaun did you speed up sim times on everything?  Game seems to run much faster for me.  Especially in the offseason.
