rich12545 -> Map Packs Questions (7/17/2009 9:12:32 PM)

There are two map packs available. One is the snow pack and the other is the western front pack. Each includes a new elements file for mod swap. What I'd like to do is modify my basic elements file to include the new stuff so I can just put the new maps in the map folder and eliminate the mod swap for them.

Are the two new elements files identical?
What is new and what has changed? In other words, what types of terrain can I copy/paste from the new elements file(s) to my original?

The main reason I want to do this is that I have two mods already incorporated into a total elements file, the perturbo one and the "walk thru walls" one and they are included in a mod swap file that I put together. I'd like to use the maps from those two packs along with my modded elements file. If I simply mod swap the new maps it will eliminate my modded elements file. Thanks for any help.

I think the two elements files are identical apart from a few values.

You could probably use the WF mappack file successfully.

it has "walk through walls" included.... not sure about Perturtabo's changes.

You will also need the two Terrain files so that new trees can be used.

lol, it looks like Perturbo doesn't have an elements file so that's a good reason it isn't included.  I forgot.  I had simply meshed the two mods together into one plugin.

Thanks about the two terrain files.  I hadn't noticed.  It looks like they are identical for snow and wf.  Is that right?

They are the same... the WaR and tLD elements files just activate previously unavailable trees.
