I've got to add my 2 bits. 1. "How They Won the War in the Pacific:Nimitz and his Admirals" by Edwin P Hoyt. Lyons Press, 2000. 2."The Second World War in the Far East", by H.P.Wilmott, Cassell History of Warfare,Cassell & Co., London, 1999. 3."The Pacific Campaign, WWII,The U.S.-Japanese Naval War, 1941-1945",by Dan van der Vat.Simon & Schuster, 1991. 4.For the first 2 years,'41-'43, "The Eagle and the Rising Sun"Alan Schom, W.W.Norton & Co., New York. 2004. I have some 20-30 books on WWII, not all of them re the Pacific. Even with that, I still find new items I'd never heard of. Good reading. Hugh Browne
