I'm far too cautious to get caught on camera [:D]

EDIT: And too young to be working on Merlins.

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/29/2010 4:16:23 PM)

Martin, count me in as a fan of your new sig banner.  [8D]

There are two kinds of people in the military.  I also was one of those who fixed things.  As for the rest.... [:'(]

Hope everybody's enjoying their weekend I will be working the rest of it.

Back from Adriatic... [:)]

It was 35+ degrees Centigrade there and hole week without any cloud at all... at home it is +15 degrees Centigrade and it was raining and raining where we arrived... [X(]

Leo "Apolo11"

Welcome back, Leo. Did you do anything exciting on your vacation, or were you excited to lay around and do nothing? [:)]

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/29/2010 4:23:49 PM)

I've decided that if I ever want to create a new multiplayer online game, it will be targeted at kids.  My son and his friends all play a silly little game called Maple Story.  It's kind of a fantasy/storybook version of Mario Brothers, with some character building added in.  Here's the beautiful part.  You can "buy" all kinds of crazy stuff that does nothing except "look cool" like hair styles, clothing, chairs to sit in, etc.  I don't know about all the other kids playing it, but my son probably spends enough in real money so he can buy the cool stuff in game to pay at least one programmer's salary for a year.  [:D]

I'll make a fortune!  Now, I just have to learn to really program, come up with an idea, dump AE to free up some time to work on it..... Nah, not worth it!  [:D]

Mike, I think you should have a look at the "AE is too boring" thread at the main forum. Your ideas should fit right in there. [;)]

The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, the effect of which is like having your brains smashed out with a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick."

I need one of those. Singing my first solo in church tomorrow. Feels kinda like Midway. As the Japanese. Not sure what I'm heading into.

Hopefully, when all's done, you won't have to 'apologize to his majesty'.

Well, it was a success. No one ran out screaming in terror. [:D]

Grollub -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/29/2010 10:10:10 PM)

I object to helicopters on the basis that having the wings moving faster than the fuselage is a bloody stupid concept.

Do you know how many single point failure items there are in the transmission and hub assembly of sa helicopter?[X(]

Sloth, torpor, inertia... I can't think of any other metaphors...[;)]

BrucePowers -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/30/2010 12:28:38 AM)

Interesting vacation..........

Terminus -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/30/2010 1:31:09 AM)

Why does everybody seem to think that I should "do something" with my vacation? It's MINE! MY PRECIOUS! MINE!

Erhem... I just love having to do nothing...

Of course, it's nice (in an abstract sort of way) to know that it's not going to be indefinite...

Don Bowen -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (8/30/2010 1:44:26 AM)

I 100% agree. I retired some years ago with the intention of doing nothing every day - and some days I just can't get it done.

I wasn't implying that. I meant what I said. It's your vacation. You get to do with it whatever you darn well please.

Nope. I hope to never find out either [:D] I have no interest in helicopters or working on them, big jets suit me just fine [:)]

Thanks Mike!

We enjoyed our last week of holiday sunbathing (and I was snorkeling) and doing almost nothing except resting (and sightseeing medieval cities on the island)...
