IIRC, the old game allowed certain theaters to be put under computer control so one could just run the US and leave Britain and/or China alone. Is this an option in this new version? If so, how? I couldn't find it in the manual.

It is not an option in AE.

We had to nix that; couldn't be made to work with the new AI processor.

Too bad I found that feature very helpful I didn't want to get involved in a land war in Asia. The fleet commands were a lot more fun[;)]

I used to hand China over to the AI. I can see the Commonwealth and US forces cooperating under 1 umbrella but it seems a bit of a stretch for the same person commanding US CV's to also be in charge of the ground war in China. Still, it's a small price to pay for an improved AI to play against, not to mention all the other amazing improvements in AE.
