Intruder -> Question concerning Air units (6/4/2002 7:57:35 AM)

Recently the Saratoga had experienced some air casulaties. one air group was down to 6 Dauntlesses. Now is it possible to reinforce that air group with some shore replacements? Can you break an existing air group exp.(take 6 planes from so-and-so group to transfer to the suffering airgroup to bolste its group back to 12?)

I know you can withdraw a group into another, but this often times produces an airgroup with more planes than the carrier can take.

Also, I know that the carrier screen displays the capacity of planes for a carrier but I have yet to see an figure that tells you how many planes are actually loaded. Is there one?

NavAir replacements can be received at Noumea for Allies and Truk for the IJN. Just dock or disband the TF there. IIRC, The manual also says you can get them at Brisbane, but I've never seen that happen.

Withdrawing can indeed produce some odd results. I refrain from doing so for this very reason.

Click the CV's name. You'll go to the ship screen, where you'll see the AG's listed in the lower left corner. If you click through them, you can count up the planes. You may be able to determine this at a glance in the ship screen, but I'm not sure, as I don't happen to look at that particular portion of the screen very often.
