Durbik -> Umm... head to head mode? (8/2/2009 7:29:03 AM)

Just finished "head to head" coral sea scenario with my long time witp opponent. And, well... Never agin this game mode!

During the turn processing everybody can see this info: "XXX [ship] air patrol cancelled due to bad weather" - or similar, can't remember now - showing the exact location of a ship to everybody :O And since both of us can see the same turn processing it's kinda not funny to know the exact location of any enemy cruiser that has a cloud over it.

Can this kind of info be hidden saomehow by us? Or when we want to play hot seat (which we did a lot in WITP times), we should use play by mail mode, which I ASSUME does not show this?

the turn passage "film" is the same for both. so nothing change with e-mail. was the same with WITP...no changes here

Well, I don't have time to play PBEM now, but in H2H AE certainly shows a position of a ship in the middle of the ocean to the other player (undetected to this moment), just to tell that this ship couldn't launch a plane this turn. In WITP head to head there was no free intel like this, now there is. So it's no good to play H2H, because it spoils the fun.

And again - I hope no communicates like this are visible when playing PBEM

The other option for H2H if both players are sitting in front of the screen is not to show any messages that belong to either player.

This would mean that you would miss out on any information that might be useful.

So the ONLY way to handle this is setting all your search planes to stand down? This is not nice :( In a grand campaign this is easy to override - just need to turn on the search near to the enemy or detected already - but in small scenarios it makes playing ipossible - how one is supposed to hide the position of his cruisers that are setting a trap and NEED search planes?

SEEING the plane by the enemy is one thing - it's good to tell both sides about this - but letting know about failing to launch this plane - makes the game against human nearly impossible to me
