Are you using the -dual switch in your shortcut?

example:

"F:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -dual -altfont

Erik Rutins -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 1:45:44 AM)

ltfightr,

Not sure which units should have been addressed, but I'll ask Nik.

Regards,

- Erik

ltfightr -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:05:10 AM)

My target line is the same one Erik posted in the hot fix thread. "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -fd -altFont -deepColor -dual

Australia cmd is not restricted. Loading options are available.

aprezto -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:14:13 AM)

is there a way of telling which HQs are restricted?

Erik Rutins -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:15:41 AM)

If it's listed in yellow (clickable) on the Unit Screen, then you can change it and it's not _permanently_ Restricted. If it's not actively clickable then you can't change it and the unit has to stay in that command. Otherwise, pay the PPs to change the unit to an unrestricted command and use it where you want it.

Look for the (R)

BigJ62 -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:16:57 AM)

(R)

ltfightr -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:32:17 AM)

Ok I see what happend. Since the old Pac War days Australian Command has been a restricted command. In the main campaign it is in AE. For this scenerio it has been made unrestricted so you can load troops assigned to that HQ with paying PP's to load those units onto ships.

Nikademus -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 2:38:17 AM)

Guad scenario has two Restricted Commands by design.

Australia Command
SoPac Rear Area

The hotfix involves an error that made them permanent restricted, not allowing players to pay PP's to change the HQ of the desired LCU to a non-restricted HQ

aoffen -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 3:20:03 AM)

Nik
I am a bit confused. Looks like we can't afford to change their HQ due to the lack of PP's. What is the impact of sending say the 7th Div to New Guinea without changing its HQ? Can they go there and be part of Australia Command in a SW Pac base? Does it affect their recovery and supply rates?
Rgds
Andrew
PS : Just out of interest shouldn't the divisions which were brought back from Africa and went to New Guinea be a part of SW Pac command or is there an ANZAC command of some sort?

Nikademus -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 3:49:35 AM)

Logistics won't be affected.

To release various units you'll need to allow PP's to build up allowing you to release various regimental/brigade sized units to reinforce areas you feel need priority. From a "Real World" perspective, think of it as you gaining through various manipulations permission to utilize various units for your operations.

From a game/scenario point of view, the purpose is to make the scenario worth playing. Japan player's biggest handicap when playing under non-variable arrival schedule is lack of troops. Historically the Japanese didn't send enough, soon enough and this crippled their efforts from the get go. The Allied player of course can't help but know that thx to hindsight. If all the LCU's on the map were unrestricted, it would not be hard for the Allied player to quickly move forward enough LCU AV to make any kind of invasion all but impossible from the Japan perspective.

This way......game pace is slowed and the Allied player has to plan in advance on which bases he wishes to prioritize because the scenario is designed to not allow you the luxury of freeing enough LCU's to defend ALL your objectives adequately at the same time.

ltfightr -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 3:59:47 AM)

The Australia Command in the Guad scenerio no longer has the "R" troops will load from that command after the hot patch. With them being in the Australia Command thats why I first thought the hot fix did not work because that command has been a restricted command from wayyyy back. In this instant it is not in this scenero with the hot patch.

oh my god.....i hate this feature!!!!!!!!

Fixed again!

I hope......

IronWarrior -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/4/2009 6:38:44 AM)

Another hotfix coming? Just curious as my pbem is on hold and trying to decide whether to pick a different scenario or wait.

Nikademus -> RE: Hot fix did not work? (8/5/2009 5:27:38 AM)

sigh....i'm afraid another fix.....though it might have to wait for the first patch.

In the meantime......to play the scenario as it was "designed" one simply needs to pay Political Points to change an LCU from Aus Command or SoPac Rear Area to a forward HQ if you want to move them from Australia or Nomeau.

sigh. It is fixed now for the next hotfix/patch. HONEST!

RE: the hotfix:

A big thanks to the Matrix Games tech support staff. I was impressed by their attentiveness and impressive response time to customer concerns.

Sorry if I'm being dense and newb, but how do I do this? When I click on the unit's "attached to" command, there are no options to change it. I am in a couple pbem games of this scenario and would like to be honest about it.

Thanks for any help.

That is a really bad thing and defeats the whole propose of PP's.
