Marc -> where to edit atoll stacking limits ? (8/5/2009 12:52:01 AM)

Can somebody please tell me where the island/atoll stacking limits are coded.
How can I change them?

Terminus -> RE: where to edit atoll stacking limits ? (8/5/2009 5:33:56 AM)

You can't.

You can't.

Are they hardcoded?
How can I tell which base has which stacking limit viewing at the data that WITPload generates?

Yes.

The limits are not in the base data, so you won't see them there. They are derived from map data. There is a list of islands and their sizes in the manual.

Dili -> RE: where to edit atoll stacking limits ? (8/5/2009 5:46:58 PM)

So is it impossible to add an island to the map?

Captain Cruft -> RE: where to edit atoll stacking limits ? (8/5/2009 6:20:37 PM)

No but you need a way to edit the pwhex.dat file.

What island do you have in mind?

Malta!:) it was a exploratory question for a War in Med 40 trying to assert if it is easy to edit. If there was mapping editing tools i already have bought and dived in it, but having not much knowledge how to edit with normal editor and trying to see if there isn't any major problem with the game has put me on hold. Sended a PM.

And that is something I'd love to see. I still don't understand why it was removed from the editor - it was cerrtainly part of it's previous (WitP) incarnation.

There was no pwhex editor released with WitP. As for AE, it is something that is being discussed. Until those discussions go somewhere there is not much I can add right now.

Hmm? While I',m aware that the 'stock editor' that came with WitP had no PWHex editing function, I'm sure I can clearly remember using what is basically the same editor as we now have in AE in an earlier form in WitP, I downloaded it from somewhere, and adding some roads into the DEI before?

I'll wait for the discussions regarding AE to come to fruition, I guess. I'm clearly not seeing the whole picture, since I can't see what's to discuss.

Steve,
I think you refer to War in the Pacific Editor X created by James Armstrong.
Would be great if he could rework it for AE.

In time perhaps but too busy right now and this new map data file is a bit more complex which is going to require a lot more coding to keep it friendly to use.

James,
understand but hopefully (for us ) you will find the time.
WitP Editor X is highly appreciated, great tool, thanks again for it.

Oliver
