Tordenskiold -> General star not visible (8/6/2009 1:07:58 PM) Playing Germany against Poland I have noticed that a lot of German units does not have a general star visible but there is still a generals name in the unit info box. Is this correct?

Unit's general star is visible if this particular unit have assigned commander, in info box is name of assigned commander OR (if unit don't have assigned one) commander that is in 3 hexes range and gives you the best bonus .
