EwingNJ -> Abomination (8/7/2009 6:50:22 PM)

There is a game breaking flaw in the Japanese OOB. I cannot believe that the, “modders,” missed this. This is just one more example of the disrespect shown to us, “true,” gamers.

The 4th Military Postal Unit is missing. It should be located at Truk from the start. This omission seriously impacts Japanese morale and hands the Allied player an insurmountable advantage. I doubt that Japan will be viable by mid to late 1942 because of this.

I would also suggest to the, “modders,” inclusion of a postal unit rule. This should take all of five minutes coding time and go a long way to counterbalancing the disgraceful decision they have made that has simply gutted the Japanese side in this poorly thought out and executed abomination. (Do not even get me started on default settings for things like sub ops.)

I find all of the above to be a Modest Proposal.

Either it's a troll, or a joke. It's evenly balanced. [&:]

I call POE!

jjax -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 6:54:42 PM)

I'm pretty sure it is a joke. It is a pretty funny one considering what I have been reading here as of late!

Cap Mandrake -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 6:57:22 PM)

Clearly he has "gone postal"

NormS3 -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 7:57:30 PM)

I don't know, I trust EwingNJ. maybe he's related to my favorite basketball player Patrick Chewing!

If he can provisde the sources, i'll do the data entry![:D][:D]

ChickenOfTheSea -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 8:51:03 PM)

Are these foot postmen or motorized postmen?

jazman -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 8:54:41 PM)

And don't forget about the 17th Imperial Kitchen Company there, too. Where is it??

EwingNJ -> RE: Abomination (8/7/2009 8:55:21 PM)

What a ridiculous question. This is the Japanese Army, right? Bicyclist postmen.

And for Paullus99, think swiftly.[;)]

morganbj -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 6:11:47 AM)

Well for one, he doesn't know what he's talking about. It was Detachment A from the 4th Postal Transhiping Company that supported postal service in the Truck area. And two, they were transferred to anti-guerilla duty in Kwangyong, China in October, 1941, for losing two bottles of Inouya's Saki. So, blow this problem off. I think the OOB is correct. Except maybe for Kwangtong, China.

If its anything like our postal service, it is included under the variable reinforcment rule of +/- 3 years. Meant to be delivered to Truk, but just may turn up in the dead letter office in Harbin 3 years later?

That's nothing. When the Gamers released DAK they had a brothel unit for the Italians.

In the interest of play balance you would also have add the 14th Royal Mobile Bath Unit in Rangoon.

The Chairman had not created the Iron Chef Bn yet. That came later in the war.

mussey -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 2:59:44 PM)

I have several postal friends and several friends that went postal. ALL are having grave concerns of this blasphemous offense to their culture. Several townhall's have been organized to redress this imbalance!

If these Japanese postmen were in Malaya they might have been on bicylces.... ;-)

I'm not sure how we could model their assault/experience value. When they are busy, happy and content it would be low. But when whipped up into a frenzy or when truly going 'postal' it must be at least x10 or maybe even x20.

Another thing I didn't consider: outrigger or motorboat for coastal delivery?

Given the appearance of some people posting to whine about the absence or presence of tiny little details no one gives a damn about, I am getting paranoid. [:'(]

Although I am disappointed by the lack of both Korean comfort women and overpowered campguard support units in Japanese garrisons throughout the Pacific. It makes the Morale of Japanese unit lower than it should historically, and gives an unfair advantage to Allied.

See? I can complain too! [:D]

88l71 -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 6:50:13 PM)

Were these the postal units armed with the .23 caliber over/under Type 3.14 lever-action pistol?

ChickenOfTheSea -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 6:50:37 PM)

The lack of comfort women is offset by the American forces failing to receive their pin-up posters because they were printed in China.

rockmedic109 -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 10:23:46 PM)

Didn't the IJA and the IJN each have their own postal units that fought each other for equipment, manpower and prestige?

Many of us had noticed this and simply kept quiet.

JSBoomer -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 11:11:10 PM)

As funny as this thread is I'm not sure that we should be making fun of those who sent in comments about the inaccuracy of some part of the game. Especially as I am one of the guilty parties. Just remember this, if it was not those who wanted to make WITP better in the first place we would not have AE in the first place. And what a wonderful job they have done. One of the things that have made this game my all time favorite is the support that has been given over the years and continued imporvements. That being said however EwingNJ; that was funny as heck though.[:D]

NormS3 -> RE: Abomination (8/8/2009 11:21:34 PM)

Has anyone found the US icecream ship yet?
