Mr.Custer -> submarine tenders (8/8/2009 8:13:01 PM)

How many submarines can one submarine tender take care of ?

Terminus -> RE: submarine tenders (8/8/2009 8:14:57 PM)

Depends. Rearming a submarine takes Ops points off the tender according to how much rearming it needs, so if you run out of Ops points, it won't service any more.

So there's no answer to your question.

Technically, that is inaccurate .... There are a large, finite number of answers to his question .....[:'(]

Though the worse case senario of needing to completely re-supply a sub (which means you need to assume a specific sub type) would be one of those answers ......[;)]

How come I don't get a repair option for subs in ports with a sub tender with the manage repairs option? I get one for repair ships, why not tenders?

Sub tenders are also supose to repair subs (page 275).

Well, go ahead and list them all, then...

We'll check back in on you from time to time...[:'(]

It really isn't hard if you RTFM. It's a concept thing. Repairs get done by Shipyards, TENDERS, pierside, and by gobs while at anchor.

TENDERS, would seem to imply all those alphabet soup things that TFM suggests are able to fix things. Maybe RTFM and do a couple recursive turns to see how it works. I'm sure it would be a worthwhile exercise. That's what we had to do to test it out.

READ the manual yourself !!![:-]

MANUAL page 278

AS - Sub tenders an auxiliary used to tend subs, including repair and reaming.

IN ENGLISH - Sub Tenders repair subs!!!

If a damaged sub is in a port with a sub tender the only options you get under "manage ships under repair" is pier side. No difference if there is or isn't a sub tender in port. One might expect to see "pier side", "repair ship" (if one is in port), and "sub tender" (if one is in port) when your trying to repair a sub. If tenders are part of ship repair than maybe they should also be part of the "manage ships under repair" process. It's a little thing called consistency!

Have you ever considered charm school![:D]
