Tuby -> How to save saved games (8/10/2009 12:33:03 PM)

I just have installed WitP on my new computer and want to transfer my saved games from the old one to the new location.
It won't work ("saved game failed to install" or something similar). I've just copied the saved games into the SVA folder. Was that too simplistic?

Tuby: This may be wild and wooly, but could you send them to yourself as you would a pbem game. You may need to open a new addee on your new comp to get same. I told you it would be wild.    Good Luck

I don't have WitP, so if I understand you correctly you copied the saved game files from the SVA folder on the old PC and pasted them into the SVA folder on the new PC?

If that's the case, it sounds like maybe the new PC has a different version of WitP installed than was used to create those saved games on the old PC. Just check and make sure that the new PC is on the same version of WitP as the old PC.

Thanx guys,
I've solved the thing. I copied the WHOLE old version (including saves) to the new computer. That did not work at first, when I copied from [C:] on the old compy to [D:] on the new one.
The game would not start that way.
I moved everything to [C:] on the new compy then and now the game starts and the saves are accepted.
Uff, we have March 1943 in the full campaign and I'd have hated to start anew.
Could have tempted me to buy the Admirals's edition, however. Not now!
