Diealtekoenig -> Editor Quirk - Buna Force Moves by itself (6/6/2002 11:42:43 PM)

I am trying to use the editor to slightly modify Scenario 14. I start the editor, then open scenario 14. I then save to another slot (say slot 26). I would think that would give me an exact copy of Scenario 14 which I could then modify a little.

But I find that before I make any changes in the databases the Scenario is already different. The forces that should be at Buna in Scenario 14 (144th Rgt for example) are not at Buna, but are at Rabaul.

There may be more forces moved or altered but that is what I noticed right away. ALL the forces that should have been at Buna in Scenario 14 are back at Rabaul.

Any idea what is going on here?

Yes, there is some hard coding in certain situations in some of the scenarios. This can lead to units always starting somewhere despite your use of the editor. Rich is working on putting information together regarding this hard coding so it can get posted for those of you using the editor. I can't give you an ETA on when this information will be available but it should be relatively soon.

That explains what happened to me.

I edited Coral Sea scenario to put bombs on Mavis chutais, that is all. When I began, all Japanese Subs were in TRUK under human control. This is not how the scenario begins.
