EasilyConfused -> A Couple of Editor Questions (8/20/2009 2:10:07 PM)

Hey folks, I've got a couple questions about the editor I was hoping someone could help me with.

1. What does it mean when a ship or other unit's arrival location is listed as "delayed?"

2. What is the significance of the blue coloring of some of the slots in Locations?

Thanks for your help!

1. Delayed means it is in the ship building qeue. For Japanese players you can manipulate it in game, for Allied players that is the arrival date. Entered in the YYMMDD form Example 1 april 42 = 420401.

2. I believe those are reserved or hard coded slots. I don't mess with the blue slots personally, going on the assumption that it is blue for a reason.

Thanks for the quick response Shark7.  I was actually referring to the slot directly above the "delay" slot.  Usually under "location" it gives a base (or a task force), but sometimes it just says "delayed."

The delayed tag simply means that it is not on map at game start. I believe that if that says delayed that the GE will pick a base at random for the ships arrival....usually a port with a shipyard.

When I mod, I always set a port of arrival for my ships. With a historically non-existant ship, I simply pick a shipyard of the appropriate type/size. Maizuru is appropriate for a merchant, destoyer or escort, but you need a big shipyard like Kure for a Yamato class, etc.
