I'm sure many of you know this already but the British National Archive has a lot of documents which you can download as pdfs for free. It takes a bit of searching but you can obtain the weekly summaries prepared by the British military chiefs for their political masters. They can make for some interesting reading, as they detail what the military thought and did in that specific week. Good primary source material in many ways as they can be used to help place units in specific places at specific times. Here's the link to the document which covers the start of the war against Japan: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?queryType=1&resultcount=1&Edoc_Id=7961694 All you have to do is add to the shopping cart, head to the checkout and give your e-mail address. You'll then get a link to the pdf file you've requested. As I said, it's free. Hope it's of interest and even of use. :)
