There material files. You need to make one of these if you add a totaly new item to the game with it's own ingame skin. Other then that don't play with these they can and will blow up your game if you click the wrong thing.

Say you add a black helmet to the game. You'll make a new mat file pointing to all the files you need to have said black helmet. Skin, Model.. I think there was a skeleton too.. I really need to reinstall this to give better info. >_>

k i found the converter. but I don't know how to use it.

This is going to sound alittle harsh but.. Try double clicking it... >_>

It'll do it's thing then you do yours then you double click it again. Boot your game once you get whatever your doing in that folder done and all the rest of whatever item your addings calls in and pray it dosn't go boom.

primalplow -> RE: .mats (8/31/2009 5:58:44 AM)

what can i use to edit tga files?

Reinforce -> RE: .mats (8/31/2009 6:07:04 AM)

Photoshop works best but don't save the file as a tga you'll lose the clear layer. Save the file as a PNG then edit the name and set it to a .tga.
