Armor is not the answer to everything. If I recall correctly I purchased 1 platoon mechanized infantry, 2 platoons of engineers, two mechanized recon platoons, and 2 57mm AT guns. (I purchased other assorted units which I can't recall at this time). Good AT guns are key in this scenario. I sent one recon section along the northern edge of the map, and one down south. I disembarked my scouts in the south behind a hill, the next turn I moved them to the crest, using trees for cover, and lo -n- behold!!! I spotted the platoon of IVg's to the south. (This was a bit of good luck) I then cleared out the patch of buildings in the middle of the map (Snipers!!) with my engineers and planted my AT cannons to the south of that area in a good ambush position for the panzers, all the while my scouts were shadowing them accordingly. My 2 57mm AT guns wiped out all 4 IVJ's, 2 Panther Vg's, and the mechanized transports, before I pulled them out due to supression fire. My engineers all the while were busy as beavers laying mines in their path and then systematically close assaulted them when they ran along side those buildings I mentioned earlier. My engineers, a ruthless bunch, mowed down the crews as they scrambled from their burning hulks. The Airborne platoon in the North can handle the armored cars, Panzer IVJ's, and Stugs quite easily since they literally walk right into there ambush. Just make sure you provide some arty to soften them up a little and supress the armor. I remember buying a platoon of self propelled 155's and an ammo dump with my support points. I used the two Airborne supplied 57mm's to take out the initial charge of armored cars, I then turned them toward the beach to provide overwatch for the two single victory hexes at the crossroads. They pretty much decimated the Stug reinforcements that come from the North, while my Engineers who were already dug in pounded the escorting jerrie engineers. Hope this helps.
