jeffreysutro@jeffreysutro.com -> What are the Bullet Symbols on the Combat Results Table? (9/8/2009 3:14:42 AM)

I have recently returned to playing this game after being away from it for a while, so at the risk of embarrassing myself I'm going to ask a rather ignorant question. On the Combat Results Table, in the colum to the right of the defender results colum, there may be shown a bullet on a red background, or just the red background alone. This is usually in conjunction with an overun result. I'm guessing that one bullet in the colum means that the attacker will only expend one bullet in the attack if that dice roll comes up, and that no bullets (a blank red box) means the attacker will expend no bullets if that number is rolled. Is this correct? Is it only for overuns that some combat results will expend fewer bullets than usual, or can it also occur for results that don't give an overun?

Thank you for any information you can give me.

No problems on the question as you've already figured out the answer. A red background with a bullet means that all attackers will expend 1 bullet and the red background without a bullet means that no attack bullets will be expended. If the defenders surrender then no bullets are used.
