105mm Howitzer -> Some info please (9/9/2009 4:20:53 PM)

Hi y'all, i'm not sure if the queries been asked already( and if it has, my apologies fir this one) Jason, this series covers what era exactly? I know it's listed as Modern Wars, but what are the years involved? Also, will it cover post-WW2 ? And lastly, will it be a hodge-podge collection of battles or will it feature linear-style campaigns? Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing just like on the original series, a choice of scenarios/campaigns, covering as well smaller, leser known battles ( the Indo-Pakistani War does come to mind.)
Anyway, thanks for any info, and again sorry if this has been repeated elsewhere.
Cheers
Mc

Modern Wars: Volume I consists of two games in one package.

The Middle East game which deals with various conflicts in the middle east theatre of operations between 1948 to 1985.

The Vietnam game deals with the three Indochina wars between 1948 to 1985.

I'm not sure what you are asking here?

There will be Linked Campaigns included, but Dynamic Campaigns will NOT be included with the initial release.

The standalone scenarios themselves will provide a variety of battles and subject matter. Given the time span, it may appear to be hodgepodge at first glance, but if you sort the scenarios by date you will notice a logical flow to the battles.

Some lesser known battles you'll encounter with the Middle East game include:

1. Iraq vs Kurds
2. Egypt in Yemen
3. UK in Yemen
4. France in Algeria
5. Egypt in Libya
6. Libya in Uganda

NATO vs Warsaw Pact type battles will be available with Modern Wars: Volume II.

Hope that helps.

Without the DCG I will not purchase this game....I will wait for a few updates prior to purchase. I know with Matrix games as always there is some bone crunching, mind numbing buggage...so the order for the day for me is wait and see and read the forums prior to any financial stimulas to a company...

Thanks for the input Jason. Any plans to extend it beyond the M.E. ? ( like the Asian continent or even South America)
Cheers

The Vietnam portion deals with elements of the Asian continent, primarily the three Indochina Wars.

Otherwise, future volumes will cover other conflicts.
