I bought it and the game is very good. If you like PG you will like this game. However I do agree with TheWombat if they made the graphics in sharp 2D look like PG had this game would have ROCKED!! More PG fans would be all over IMHO. I know it is 2009 and almost every developer thinks they need to do 3D to be "cool" with the rest of the games but I am not a big fan of 3D in a game like this. If you want to copy and be a clone of PG then they should have used the PG 2D graphics style from PG1.

Aside from that I think the game is a very good PG clone.

Wish I have not seen this post , I am eagerly waiting for this game that I label it  as Modernize Panzer General ( big fan of PG & Strategic Command Series ) but now having doubts about the system requirement

and yes why they have to make this 3D .....guess have to wait for more comment

Funny it seem like the same scenario when  Battlefront release Strategic Command 2 which is totally different from SC1

With regard to the "icons/counter" and "2D/3D" comments. They are fine, but can we all just transport ourselves back to the days when we played Panzer General?

I'm making a sweeping statement here, but I for one wanted 3D graphics....I liked PG very much and AG, but I yearned for little 3D models of Tigers!

Besides, one other point...we are all hardened gamers. We know what we like and we buy what we like....games like these are needed to get fresh blood into the genre. PG did it for me...I think thie and other games like it could do it for other kids. More fresh blood = more sales = more development.

I'm buying tonight [:D]

Wish there is a 2D/D switch mode where the 2D  using NATO Symbol  , that will be perfect ..

Any way will be buying this as well , it too PG alike to pass this one up
