Kull -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.1 (10/10/2009 6:19:50 PM)

Guys, I'm going to make an impassioned request for a quick "patch" that will allow one to download the contents of the "Ships" Dataset. At moment, you can't obtain this data with either a csv export (not available) or even the "highlight all rows and copy-paste" method (table is set to "one row only"). Here's why I need it. As you can see from the attached spreadsheet, I've been able to combine the output of four different data sets: Bases, LCUs, Air Groups and Pilots, and even Ships (I copy-pasted two rows of data as a test). As a result, it's possible to use the filter buttons to look at every unit located at any base (or hex), and add comments as to what I (or others, as the spreadsheet will be shared with the community) want them to do as part of the overall "Day 2" Setup.

Unfortunately, the absence of "Ships" is a HUGE hole in the planning process, and Task Forces doesn't substitute for it (there is no unit-level data in that dataset). I realize this is a lot to ask, but if you could issue a patch that makes that dataset available either as a csv or by enabling copy-paste of all rows, it would be hugely appreciated!!

I've attached the spreadsheet (change the extension from .txt to .zip, then extract the contents and open with excel or openoffice) so you can see what I've done so far.

Here is a zip of Allied ships from Scenario 1, Dec 7 ... (because I know we a little way from a new release)

Hope this helps, looks like a good excel spreadsheet ;)

Excellent!!! Thanks Damian, this is a huge help. I'll integrate this into my "master" and will repost it for those who are interested. As usual, you guys completely rock! [&o]

Kull -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.1 (10/10/2009 8:42:23 PM)

As promised, I have uploaded the updated spreadsheet containing the "Ships" Dataset from 12/7. However to avoid contaminating this thread, I would request that "spreadsheet related" discussions be conducted in the linked thread. Thanks again!

floydg -> Multi-turn read changes (10/12/2009 3:03:31 AM)

Okay, after several complaints, I updated the Multi-turn read to have two modes:
- current mode, where the files shown are based on the SaveFile name
- "All .pws" mode where all files containing "pws" in the name for the same scenario will be shown. You'll need to be careful with this one, since if you have multiple games with the same scenario running, you could load a turn for the wrong game...

The screen looks like the attached. Comments?

StoneAge -> RE: Multi-turn read changes (10/12/2009 4:18:08 AM)

Thanks for listing the ACM's on the Minefields page. Has already come in handy had to many in some ports and nothing in others.

So once again guys. Great Work

Graymane -> RE: Multi-turn read changes (10/12/2009 2:50:56 PM)

Hi guys,

Thanks for the great tool. I've got a couple of feature requests I'd like to ask for.

  • Ship Classes - Add a "side/owner" selection to filter all allies or all japanese. Add some special filters (transports, asw, escorts, etc) besides the class filter. Add a filter for date selection.
  • Aircraft comparision - Add a nation filter to make it easier to see Chinese upgrades for examples.
  • Bases - add some kind of color-coding/visual highlighting to bases with less than x2 (or whatever values trip the alerts) supplies. Add spoilage max values as new columns. Add new columns to show if a base is overloaded by LCUs. Would be nice for aircraft as well, but I'm not sure we know the formulas yet.
  • Air Groups - Add a notes column like you have for TFs.
  • LCUs - Add a notes column like you have for TFs.
  • Notes View - Some kind of notepad-like area where I can just write generic notes for a turn and then view them later. Sort of like a diary/blog/AAR so I can do everything in one place.
  • Once you get a map, a map note area where I can attach notes to locations/hexes.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan -

Thanks for the ideas -- all seem reasonable. We'll add them to the list.

Well, someone made a good suggestion... [;)]

Please, show files along with the time/date stamp!

Would like like to see this used for loading single files vs. editing the file.

wg335910 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (10/12/2009 6:25:09 PM)

This is my second screen. Here's what I've done so far:
1. I downloaded the hotfix pwsdll.dll for WitPAE and installed in my main directory.
2. I made a copy of it and pasted it in my WitPTracker 1.1 directory.
3. I ran it and this what came out.

Date/timestamp is a good idea. I'll add that. [EDIT: I added it]

For the single file load, I'm not really sure what you're asking for. That function is really for getting the file turn-by-turn from the SAVE directory rather than copying/renaming. Do you use it differently?

You probably need to show the error for step 3... [;)]

I still can't get WitPTracker 1.1 AE to work. I've attached my latest screen. Let me know what you think. Also, I have installed the latest patch. It didn't help.

You do have the C++ SP1 patch installed, right?

wg335910 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (10/12/2009 7:39:18 PM)

To be honest, I'm not sure? Where can I find it?

wg335910 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (10/12/2009 8:04:13 PM)

Thank You very much.
I went to the Microsoft web page and downloaded the C++ 2005, SP1 patch. Everything is good with the world. I managed to export a LCU CSV file. Thank You Again.

wg335910 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.1 (10/13/2009 12:45:59 AM)

I quess you're having the same problem I am. I was using WitP Tracker 1.1 when I notice that you can't export any of the ship data. So...there is no fix for this? If so, I quess I can get the ship data from WitPStaff.

It'll be in the next release, if you consider that a fix... [;)]

pad152 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.1 (10/15/2009 5:01:08 PM)

When something goes negative it would be nice to know where (location/base names).

Example: Light Industry shows Red (Not building (40)), is there a way to find out what location(s) are causing this?

I know how to find this info in game, just not in WitpTracker!

treespider -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.1 (10/15/2009 9:15:28 PM)

Installed 1.1

I have installed the C++ file

I have updated to the latest greatest version of JRE.

Yet I cannot load any turns beyond the first...

Game was started with release and hotfixed, then patched and hot fixed....

Is there an issue with older turns on older versions of the game being loaded vs newer turns with the latest exe?

You must be running from the jar and not the bat. WitPTracker needs more memory than the default to load a turn. The bat file puts the proper memory settings.

Unfortunately then it is similar to the problem I have with witpStaff... I'm running 64bit Vista and cannot start either program with the .bat. For staff I can run the program with the .jar.

This is what I see when starting with bat...

Damian had some notes on getting this to work for 64-bit Vista. They are somewhere in this thread, if you look back.

Treespider - I've got to rush out soon for work unfortunately, but if you pm me your email, I'll give you something else to try later, can't guarantee anything, but you'll have to go back(uninstall 32 bit) to the 64AMD microsoft patch.
