floydg -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/18/2009 4:00:02 PM)

Swenslim -

Where did you install AE (the game)?

Can you post the contents of the witptracker.properties file?

Thanks,

Floyd

This is most probably a memory issue You need to be sure the JVM is getting enough memory ... (I know you don't use the batch file), so you need to set the JVM properties to match what the values in the batch file are (not sure exactly how to do that, but that's what Google is for...) ... and if I have time I'll look into it for you.

--Damian--

Paul,
this is one way to increase the JVM settings http://bpv.basics-usa.com/JVMMemory.htm ... please use the settings we have in the batch file and let me know how this works ...

Damian

Agreed -- 100% of the crashes I was seeing were related to the JVM memory. Is there a reason why you're not using the batch file?

Thanks Gents, ok I found a way to get to Java options and entered values as described, I will let you know tomorrow when I get my next round how it goes.

Paul

no, didn't load a turn at the time of the error message. I am getting the error loading my first turn with the new patch. after playing some more turns and loading them i still get the error. i sent the savegame, the errormessage and the wipttracker.properties to witptracker@gmail.com.

Good news. Those types of problems are sometimes the hardest to solve, since the more you stare at it, the more correct it looks. [X(]

Great product boys.

One request on the minefields list page can we have a column of how many ACM's are in each port.

and a note at the top of the page "Each ACM can protect (i.e. service and repair) 150 mines from decay."

Because it was quick and easy, I added that.

Well, it was easy, but it wasn't quick. My first attempt was a very bad idea... but you don't want to hear about that.

Okay, this one wasn't that hard to find and fix. The information about a sunk ship was not usable (the base was "0"), so it was causing some trouble with the display. If you see ships that were sunk near "0,0", these would be the ones which don't display properly.

pad152 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/19/2009 6:14:46 AM)

I'm starting a new campaign and WitpTracker summary is showing several ships sunk before I complete turn one? The game is showing no ships sunk or loss.

It's also showing a number of pilots as KIA, MIA, WIA?

Pad152,
can you tell me which scenario and ships, and I'll have a look, sometimes the scen DB, has some ships assigned as sunk instead of delayed / not used... otherwise I know Floyd is looking into an issue related to this right now.

Cheers

This is a custom campaign based off of campaign 2. This is from a save before completing turn one, this just doesn't look right.
There is only one saved game file in the save game folder with no combat or op reports.

I was trying to use WitpTracker to balance aircraft & engine production but, the numbers aren't adding up. In game AE tells me I'm building 265 + 5 expanding (Ha-35 engines) but, WitpTracker is telling me I'm building 295?

n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/19/2009 6:44:25 AM)

Wrong pic mate [;)] are you trying to confuse me again ?

[edit1]Is this a new tracker DB, did you delete the trackerdb.*** files ? I guess you would have, I'm just looking at my scenario 2 now.

[edit2] better still can you zip up the scenario and send it to me

That's the right picture, the summary from WitpTracker! I'll dump the ship data in excel and see if there are ships listed as sunk before the delay date.

Sorry but, this one also has custom art work, I not ready to release it.

Yeah I totally understand that, when I load into a fresh Tracker DB, I get none of these sunk ships showing, are you sure you deleted the trackerdb.*** files, and didn't set any ships in the DB to 19999, instead of 9999 ?

Also look under Victory Points -> sunk ships

I get 180 building x 5 repairing, same as the game ... [edit]do the numbers add up in the details panel after clicking on the engine ?

pad152 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/19/2009 7:29:39 AM)

I'll delete the files and start a new with the standard campaign 2 file.

Something that would be nice is to have WitpTrack show you the name and location of the saved game file to verify what file(s) it's using.

Yea, that looks better, I didn't delete the db files![8|]

Just to let you know campaign file 10 is missed up in 1084 release, missing ship classes for Japan.

n01487477 -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/19/2009 7:32:55 AM)

I agree Pad, maybe we can improve the TURN ->Turn List interface ... after everything else is achieved

hope it is all ok now, I've taken some suggestions you have posted before and am working on them for inclusion.

Cheers
Damian

Yeah I told Floyd, this morning, null pointers to ship Classes that don't exist ... cool [8|] !

Paul -

Are you running from a local copy of the JVM or this one in Program Files?

Floyd

Did you copy your Java executable (the JVM) to the WitPTracker folder? Can you post a screen shot of the WitPTracker folder?

Yes, I did.

It looks like this my folder:

Okay, so my guess is that when you run from the jar file, it picks up the Java JVM (java.exe) from your local folder, so the settings you applied to the installation copy of the JVM are not being picked up.

At least that's a theory.

P.Hausser -> RE: WitPTracker AE Release 1.0 (9/20/2009 2:33:38 PM)

Ok, how can I fix it ?

I can confirm that having the java.exe in the local folder, picks up these settings... just throwing ideas out for Floyd here, but I guess if you remove the java.exe from the local folder, it doesn't work ... right Paul ?

Therefore, there might be a pathing problem in the Enviroment Variables not picking up the right java install?

Request:

1. Ability to select which saved game files to load! If you have multiple games going you don't want WitpTracker loading saved files from different games.

You can do that already with the multi-turn read function. As long as the filename has a pattern like the SaveFile item in witptracker.properties, you can load it from anywhere.

No Mac, no test Roger - let us know ... but Java is supposed to be portable.
