thantis -> Crash to Desktop during Air Bombardment (6/13/2002 6:50:12 PM)

This is the first problem that I have encountered while playing UV (and has occurred twice during the same operation, at different times) -

The game crashes to desktop during my air bombardment of Shortlands Is. The aircraft attack, and in the middle of the operation the game crashes. I can restart the game (using the autosave game to return to the beginning of the turn) and proceed from there - and it works fine.

Anyone else had this happen?

I sometimes get a CTD (crash to desktop) after 2-3 hours of play ... but no way to reproduce it. I think it might be induced by some kind of memory leak - maybe caused by the 100% CPU use bug (corrected in the patch)

However, the "autosave" function works very well ... and compared with many other games I own, UV is very stable :)

As far as my experiences with other games go - only CM:BO was more stable. This has been the only problem I've encountered so far, and I hope it happens to be related to the CPU issue (though with a P4 1.8Ghz, 1Gig RAM - I would hope to avoid that problem.

A big system is irrelevant for the 100% CPU usage bug.

Yes, but does the 100% usage bug cause the "crash to desktop" to occur?
