The RLB has a lineman's player model and the RT has an LB player model. I'm sure all of you see the same thing. David explained how the models are assigned on the defense, but I don't recall (and probably didn't understand) how it worked. It is an issue that I wish had been addressed. Basically, the game engine loads the models in, and because that is not always in synch with the depth chart swaps, some of the models get misplaced. As you know, at the time I asked about using three models, as had been talked about on the old Wintervalley board, but because the player objects actually use many more faces than some other 3D games, having to load more models would use up too much memory. Because the depth chart is something like, DE DE DT DT and swaps out the DT for a linebacker in a 34, I suggested using a fat model for just the third player. That would be a Pat Williams type player. At one time, I also suggested going back to the old bigger, but not fatter, model for the first three linemen. quote:
It doesn't affect game play but does look funny. I've always said that the linemen's bellys were over exaggerated. I would have liked to seen the DT's slimmed down a bit and have the DE's assigned a player model somewhat between that of the LB and the DL. I agree, and posted such in the beta forum. quote:
Also, it would have been great to be able to assign stances to defensive players just as on the offense. In some schemes the DE's are in an upright stance. In the orignal PDS for version 1.0 you could assign any stance to any player. I wish that hadn't of been taken out of version 2.0. I agree. I listed that as a bug, and David stated it was a change rather than a bug. There was a similar problem with tight ends on offense not keeping the stance assigned in the formation as the default.
