Been playing for a few months now, 2 games/week average, FINALLY got good enough to win at advance level, 150 stars, 7 civ's. Had a few ideas for the (hopefully) next version. Well, multiplayer being the obvious one (the AI just builds ships and attacks suicidally late in the game, there's never any Rep Facilties or Research Centers on their worlds - no wonder they are always behind in tech's!).

Here goes: How about a "star-wars"-like "death star"? Once ALL tech's are researched (besides Advanced, which depend on artifacts), you can research "death star", 200 months. When research done, build a "death star", say, $10,000 (try saving that much money without being ripped off constantly!). The death star would be, say, a very small type 1 planet, in which you could install jump drives. The death star can only attack other planet/colonies (thus only jump drives can be installed). It can also defend planets/colonies. You can build anything you can on a normal planet plus jump drives(although obviously you would want weapons). It can have a Type 2 spacedock, so your normal spaceships can act as "fighters". On top of that, once you have a death star, you can research, in order, "killer beam", "invincible shields", and "planet killer" (say about 250 months each). These artifacts can then be built only on death stars (and transferred to other ships/planets). I get chills thinking about how interesting the final stages of the game would be given these weapons!

Sounds sweet if the next patch implemented this or someone made a mod that does this.

What I would like to see is perhaps larger ships and more weapons.
What could come after cruiser? Battleship? Dreadnought?
