Hopefully the other players in the game will join in. At least Neverman so we can continue the Turkish/Russian commentary here. It is Dec 1805. Fr/SP/TU vs Rus/GB/Germans. France is matching into Austria. Turkey marched in, lost a major fight, and is now marching back to face 8 Russian corps advancing along the Aus/Tu boarder. Hardly any forces are along the Prussian front. 5 GB/RU corps are in Le Harve, with 3 French marching in that direction. Once I figure out how to load mapshots, I will do so.

The Austrian Situation (not sure TU is marching back, though I did lose a major battle do to poor rolling, I had better/more forces and picked a better chit (he had less than a 9% chance of winning in the 3rd round and he won).... if it wasn't for bad luck.... ;)

The Channel appears secure for now. With Napoleon off campaigning elsewhere the allies slink across the channel to support Austria. The remainder of the French fleet is bottled in Brest, The Dutch fleet and part of the French fleet was destroyed in Le Havre.

BoerWar -> RE: Grapeshot (9/26/2009 5:59:05 PM)

Northern Europe is free of French forces which are in the South and Austria primarily. There is a 3 corps group of unknown composition defending Paris.

Spanish forces are pretty well tied up in Morocco and Southern Spain. All that remains of the Spanish fleet are its transports. The Spanish fleet was destroyed after it was caught trying to pick up troops in Tangiers. A series of port raids by Nelson left it a shambles.

borner -> RE: Grapeshot (9/28/2009 3:23:24 AM)

Lots of French money going towards Turkish supply costs this winter apparently!

NeverMan -> RE: Grapeshot (9/28/2009 5:59:26 PM)

I think it would be nice if the orig poster would put the start date of this game.... so everyone can get an idea of how long these games take to play and how much long term dedication there is involved. Thanks in advance.

I think we've been at this one almost a year now? Or a little over a year now? Not sure, someone help me out here, :).

borner -> RE: Grapeshot (9/29/2009 1:52:28 PM)

I'm not sure when we started. I was a lot younger back then.   [:D]

So if we've been doing this for a little over a year real-time (or about a year) and we've gone through almost a year of game time then this game is year for year....

... so I will be ~10+ years older when this game ends.... awesome!

EDIT: Maybe an actual physical re-enactment might not take as long.

Thresh -> RE: Grapeshot (9/29/2009 9:17:04 PM)

So your moving about as fast as most PBeM games do...

I guess so... though you would think this would go faster considering we are using a bought PC version.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack this thread talking about the speed of EiANW.

Back to the game....

The game started on Dec 18, 2008. We are currently in the Naval phase of March 1806 so we're set for about a 1.5 for one pace. If only real life would stop interferring we'd go alot quicker.

NeverMan -> RE: Grapeshot (1/21/2010 3:17:56 AM)

How is this game going? I hope Turkey is doing well. ;)

NeverMan -> RE: Grapeshot (2/14/2010 4:48:02 AM)

AGAIN, how is this game going?

BoerWar -> RE: Grapeshot (2/26/2010 12:11:58 AM)

We're in the Sep 1806 turn. The Russia war against Turkey is still on. Austria had been participating, however Prussian duplicity and French aggression forced the Austrians to turn back.

BoerWar -> RE: Grapeshot (2/26/2010 12:17:22 AM)

Russia and Great Britain had an invasion force rampaging the French countryside, however those armies were defeated after Prussia switched sides. Only remnants remain scattered in French capitols including Paris.

Finally, the remaining scraps of the British army have engaged in Spain to cutoff supply to an army that was headed East.

Dec 1806 - France with his Prussian lapdog continue the fight against Austria. Many stout Austrian lads formed adhoc "Insurrection Corps" following the near obliteration of the Austrian Army. Charles just recently cut the French line of supply which may prove to be troublesome for the Corsican Usurper.

Dec 1806

While things look dire for Austria a look at the most recent battle between Charles and Napoleon show that the Grand Armee isn't that grand following the occupation of Paris for to econ phases by brave English and Russia heroes.

note: The presence of the Prussian mercenaries tipped the numeric scales.

Dec 1806

In the South the Spanish Army continues to dither. Having turned West for a few turns to thwart a British invasion which turned out to be a feint. They are now headed back to the East to gather those Austrian territories in Italy that their French master has apportioned to them.

Dec 1806

The Turks have made a stand against the Russians outside Constantinople. The Russians had to turn back for a time to rebuild its lines of supply following an end around by an ellusive Turkish cav corps.

Finally, the Prussian poodle has built a Polish Kingdom out of hide, but cowers within its own borders rather than follow through on its treachery with a full scale invasion of its former allies.
