As Luftwaffe, I set up a number of raids, not really knowing what I'm doing, but just trying to paste a bunch of airfields. Hitting the SE England airfields, big raids on Kenley and Biggin Hill, but raids also on many of the other secondary fields: Manston (damage: 44) Lympne (damage: 27) Hawkinge (damage: 83) Detling (damage: 35) West Malling (damage 30) Eastchurch (damage 15) Gravesend (damage 3) Biggin Hill (damage 84) Kenley (damage 35) You can see Biggin Hill and Hawkinge really took a beating. I staggered the attacks at 10-minute intervals, at different altitudes, to try to overwhelm British defenses. I had two raids on Biggin Hill, one following the other. Also, each raid had close fighter escort, plus a squadron of high escort. It's funny how things look bad, loss-wise: German: Aircraft Lost: 54 Pilots Lost: 53 Score: 188 British: Aircraft Lost: 30 Pilots Lost: 10 Score: 113 But I get the win. It must be the airfield damage that gives me the win. The summary says I get 158 points for sector AF damage, and 14 for terror bombing. Early it looked bad, I had 43 losses, and the British had 12, but I think the first wave took the brunt of a beating, then things started to even out, then when the bombs started falling, I scored big. The British lost 6 Defiants. I was surprised to find those still in action in August, 1940. Since I don't know the implications of what I've accomplished, it's on to the week-long campaign to see what that takes. Losing 24 He-111s in one day surely can't be sustained over a longer campaign?
