Hard Sarge -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (12/23/2009 8:49:13 PM)

I think what that might be, we had to rework how the highlights worked

Klahn -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (12/25/2009 5:27:42 PM)

Hurri 2 requires Merlin XII in BoB 40 and Merlin XX in BoB 41. I think it should always require the Merlin XX unless I'm mistaken. I've never heard of a Merlin XII powered Hurricane.

Version 1.02
OOB 12-05-09

Hard Sarge -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (12/26/2009 8:44:11 AM)

been corrected already, it was mislinked before, it should be XX

Some more "problems" I see while playing 1943 long campaingn as Axis defender (It is the 7th August 1944 (Turn 356/700)):

I have the Ta 154A in production and I find
- ErpKdo 154 already upgraded to FuG 220 SN-2 and Flensburg
- All other units manually changed to Ta 154A are still equiped witch FuG 212

Bf 109 G-14 and FW 190 A8/R7 are in production and on stock
- Bf 109 G-14, 143 in pool
- FW 190 A8/R7, 408 in pool
and no possibility to manually change any of JG30x to a new model

Upgrade issue
If I 'upgrade' a Bf 109 G-14 to a Bf 109 G-14/R6 and later replace this by another model, I goes back to the pool as a Bf 109 G-14, it looses its 'Ruestsatz'. Same is true for all other models like FW 190 and Me 410 (all lines in the aircraft pool show up with 0 units. This does only blow up the list of Aircrafts in the pool).

Research/Upgrade
If I invest in research, e.g. Me 410 B-2/U2, I do receive this model earlier than originally planned. The upgraded model Me 410 B-2/U4 is not available at the same point in time, it is delayed to its originally date of arrival. I have seen the same for Bf 109 G-14, Me 262A and Do 335 A. In all cases the upgunned versions are delayed and not available with the base model. This is a bad situation, as I am not able to do a direct research on this models.

Flaktower
Germany has constructed Flaktowers in Hamburg, Berlin and Vienna, none of the are visible in the game.
- Hamburg Flakturm IV (Heiligengeistfeld/St.Pauli), armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and numerous 37 mm and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Hamburg Flakturm VI (Wilhelmsburg), ready in Octomer 1943, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and sixteen (four quad) 20 mm guns
- Berlin Tiergarten, ready in April 1941, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and numerous 37 mm and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Berlin Volkspark Friedrichshain, ready in October 1941, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and numerous 37 mm and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Berlin Volkspark Humboldthain, ready in April 1942, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and numerous 37 mm and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Vienna, Flakturm VI - Stiftskaserne, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Vienna, Flakturm VII - Augarten, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and thirty-two (eight quad) 20 mm guns
- Vienna, Flakturm VIII - Arenberg Park, ready in October 1943, armed with eight (four twin) 128 mm guns and sixteen (four quad) 20 mm guns
Possible solution: Model them like Sumatra-Java bases in Romania.

Radar
- I have never seen any contact made with FuG 220 SN-2 (Used in He 219 A-2 and Ta 154A) while playing the 1943 long campaign
- No jamming of FuG220 SN-2 was possible prior to mid 1944, afterwards the antenna layout was changed to reduce the effect of jamming. End of 1944 effective jamming was possible
- Monica: German possibility to home in on Monica was unknown to the allies until Mid of 1944, afterwards Monica was not used
- Wuerzlaus (add-on to german groud radar) reduced the effect of windows from end of 1943 on
- H2S the quality of the displayed signal was o.k. to find a city, but a certain factory?

Turn back of allied bomber groups
I have seen this several times, also escort fighters turn back. The most impressive attack was a bombing run from british bases bypassing Hannover to Berlin. After a successful run(?) some of the bomers including teir escort on their way back home took a different decision and turned back to Berlin for an additional run. I am really impressed as they started a run bombing factories. None of the machines got lost while running out of fuel (In reality I would expect them to load more bombs for the initial attack or to run out of fuel and do crash landing somewhere over enemy europe). It seems to me, that this happens with groups split of the original bomber stream(as they usually have large group numbers like 300 and over).

Erkki -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (10/5/2010 8:33:52 AM)

Now that you mentioned Sumatra-Java flak train/whatever it is, mine disappeared. Moved it to Rome where it shot down some B-17s, and I think it was a week or two after Avalanche Landings that it disappeared. Remembered I had it and wanted to move it back some, North, to protect industrial areas, and couldnt find it. Wasnt in the lists anymore, either... That was in a PBEM.

I also play the long 1943 campaign as the defender. And I also see alot of bomber groups making a "second run". I am close to 40 turns into the game and I've seen this 7 or 8 times already. When the bomber groups return to UK one of them suddenly turns back to the target. Not that they have any bombs to drop on their second run.

In this picture the USAAF had bombed Bremen with 4 different bombing groups. Somewhere over the English Channel one of the groups turns back towards Bremen. After considering if I should take advantage of the bug or not I decided to see how much I could hurt this group. So I launched most of my refueled aircraft. Without any fighter escorts at all my fighters shot down all the aircraft in that group and I even had the time to hunt down all the stragglers trying to limp back to UK.

When I start the game the hour glass icon appears next to my pointer. It does not go away. I ran a few turns of the introductory scenario and it remains there. The game seems to run fine but that hour glass will not go away

I think they fixed this with the patch. Make sure you have the latest version installed.

Bomber Turn Back Issue

Was there any update with regard to this issue? Seeing it happen fairly frequently with 8th Air Force raids, fortunately the returning bombers have so far got off lightly!

mikkey -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (5/13/2012 10:43:02 PM)

not now, but maybe sometime in the future could be released a new patch ...

Colin Bell -> RE: The Minor Bug List BtR_Axside.bmp (9/3/2012 8:59:55 PM)

Have noticed whilst playing BTR '43 long version, all of the Allied Nightfighter Squadrons and all of the Allied Photo Recon Squadrons do not replen their losses from the replacement pool. Also that when either of these type of Squadrons start off being understrength they then do not replen to full strength (18 a/c) when there are a/c available.

Also noticed in '43 game: Allied PRI 2838 Knettishall (3 Bomb Div) and Allied PRI 2803 Nuthampstead (1 Bomb Div) share the same location: 318,235, yet in the '44 version 2838 Knettishall is at 337,214 and 2803 Nuthampstead is at 352,207.

Is there going to be patch to enable the Squadrons to be able to replen from the replacement pool and for the two game maps to be the same?

Cheers Colin

Another anomoly found - 25 Sqn (Mossie II unit), is showing in the Campaign summary as not coming into play until turn 10 or so with 12 Group. It can be found on Allied PRI base "Church Fenton", however, this base shows up as a 84 Group base. Also when you cancel a few Nightfighter raids on the "Modify Raid" screen, not all of the "a/c" can be reallocated for another raid as what can be done with ALL types of bombers.
