jerryandlinda -> Lack of AA and transport in update? (6/18/2002 8:36:48 AM)

After downloading the update patch, I've noticed a marked decrease in anti-aircraft activity when bombing a port. Also, the C-47s do not seem to transport troops anymore. Has anyone else notice this?

I don't know about the AA, but my C-47s are definitely transporting the troops that I designate.

Same here, I moved an entire Aussie division via transport from Noumea to Luganville via two squadrons of C-47s.

I have noticed a little less "flak bursts" in airfield attacks, but since PM was still shooting down or damaging a fair number of attacking G3s and G4Ms, nothing has stood out as being out of the ordinary, I'll take a closer look during future as ops.

I am not sure whether this is a real phenomenon or only a mere coincidence, but what I have noticed is that the equipment of the AA units seems to become disabled at a greater rate than it used to. Maybe the bombers do target them more now?

Rex Bellator -> You got me thinking... (6/20/2002 4:59:39 AM)

I've been watching a couple of AA units I unloaded at PM to fend off my infernal PBEM opponents mass raids. I could swear that some of the guns which were disabled when initially unloaded have remained so for weeks, without any getting fixed.

I'm not confident enough to report a problem here yet, but would ask fellow players if they can spare a look at their AA units and see if damaged guns are getting repaired.

Cheers guys.

Because Cairns got pounded badly day after day, I transferred 4 fully functional AA units there. Support and supplies were ok, too. To my disappointment, they all four were really quickly disabled after only a few turns, but I can't say whether this is normal or not with respect to the regular daily raids from Townsville with about 50 level bombers per raid (30 of which are B17). There were even some nightly raids, though these usually only contained very few bombers.

I did not notice units being repaired, but this may not be a very reliable information. The problem is that after transferring the AAs did not have the desired result (I had hoped they would give me some breathing space to repair the badly damaged airfield), I could not watch this for very long ... I pulled the bulk of my troops out of Cairns, which is now again in the hands of the enemy.
