First thing patch seems very good. Only had one crash to Desktop and was not repeatable.

Anyway after a long invasion of France as Germany (My own fault far to confident. And Britain carried on fighting in Southern France rather than escaping to UK) I have finally defeated France. Now I am attempting an invasion of the UK. From recon it seems the British army is quite weak in the UK. Maybe due to its losses in Southerm France. I managed to capture Southampton with 2 Parachute Divisons. But I can't get any troops across in ships because of the good old Royal navy.

So does anyone have tips on invading UK ?
Do I just need to build up my Navy before I attempt the invasion. My planes are doing some damage to the ships. However my subs don't seem to do much damage.

This just a shot in the dark, because I haven't tried crossing The Channel playing 1.60

Anyway, bomb the sea zone with everything you can, send in whatever Capital Ships that you can as a REGULAR Fleet and the Transports as individual fleets.

Just a wild idea, never been tested.

I did try what you suggested however the Royal Navy was much to strong for my surface fleet. Think I need to bomb the sea zones for much longer before sending my fleet in against the Royal Navy. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yep, assemble your bombers near caen, probably all of them as their best use I find is to attack the navy. If you use 12 units you will lose maybe 3 strength points a turn whilst the navy loses 11 to 12. Meanwhile use the respite to strengthen your fleet. If you can use the proceeds of your French conquest to build a carrier or two it helps (even if you play with building delays this point of the game is predictable). Then go to war. After a couple of turns of Naval fighting reduce southhampton to rubble and use Sea Transport points to go and say hello to good old Blighty. probably not Historically accurate but not beyond the realms of possibility.
