Reduced visibility due to rain. It was fought in a cloudburst

What I love are the Nelsonian tactics - if they can be called tactics.

Sir, ship sighted 14,000 yards...
Very well. Hold your fire until range is 1000 yards...
Aye, Sir.

Ah...
"No captain can do very wrong if he places his ship alongside that of the enemy."

Fan of Patrick O'Brian Rev? If you haven't read the Jack Aubrey series, buckle in. You can smell the cordite and feel the salt spray on your face. Hell of a ride.

Neither TF spotted the other at 14,000 yds.

But they maintained visibility out to 28,000 yards on disengagement!!

Must have been a hell of a rain squall.......

JohnDillworth -> RE: Blind/drunk observers? (10/24/2009 2:33:31 PM)

What was the propellant used in the torpedos. Don't know about the Japaneses torps but some modes were powered by alcohol. So, they might have drank the alcohol from the torpedoes rendering them blind and the torpedoes inoperable. This clearly explains the combat result. Wow, this game has everything!

Yes, once spotted they are easier to keep track of - especially if some of them are on fire.

I believe the correct term for that rain squall is MONSOON! [:D]
