Will any of the games every support it?

shouldn't have any issues with most games...
only issues is the Program Files x86 directory is protected, so if you have a game that writes to it for configuration or saves.. you will need to run the game as administrator.. or install it to a different non protected directory.. Matrix games a lot install to their own directory so no problem there..

Every game I've tried so far in Win 7 64 bit has worked fine so far..

Panzer Commander: Kharkov
Decisive Battles: Battles in Italy
Empire Total War
Medieval Total War
Theatre of War
Company of Heroes
Warhammer Platinum and II
Call of Duty...

haven't hit one yet that didn't work.. and it's' much smoother.. supports Direct x 10!.. and supports more memory!

Supports DX11 too if you have an ATI 5870 like me. Couple of points about running games on Vista and Win7, often you need to enable the game to run with admin level privileges which you do in the compatibility tab for the game's shortcut properties or exe file. I just do that for all games unless they are a game made for Vista/Win7 because it is easier than futzing around trying to figure out which games need it and which don't. The other thing is that some games need to have Disable Desktop Themes enabled under compatibility tab too or else they will get graphics issues or refuse to run. That's the first thing I do if a game refuses to run and it has fixed quite a few for me. The only other thing is to ensure you install Directx because the Directx in Vista and Win7 is missing some DX9 files that some older games need to run.

I loaded MTW on my Win 7 64 system in both Win 7 and XP mode. It will run some battles but wont run any campaigns. This is one game I really enjoyed playing! Are you running all of these games as administrator and how is that done? Is it complicated?

Always try operating the game in administrator mode. Some games will run in both but rarely are games properly saved in non-admin mode. Also if you change game settings ie graphics resolution etc. things can get a little wonky with Win 7. I changed a resolution to 1680 for my 22' LCD in admin mode for a game. Went to start it up in operator mode and it crashed. That resolution was not offered in the non-admin mode. But it ran fine in Admin mode where the resolution was now selectable.

Triggers which are updated (role playing games) and accessed by the core file can be shuttled off to a secret shadow file[;)]. The thing is you may think a game is working OK, but you really don't know until you wasted alot of time. Modding games with archived files can be a real fight in Win 7 as well. The thing is if a game was not optimized or tested for Win 7 may not work completely in Win 7.

Bottom line, most games work fine. But not all.[8|]

Steel Panthers WAW has some issues but "runs" under Win7. To resolve the color issues you have to run it in a window using a 3rd party program.
